So hello everyone, I'm new to the vape community and semi new to the vape experience. I have tried the disposables you get from gas stations quite a few times, and always ended up going back to smoking. Recently my brother-in-law got a used mechanical mod and kanger tank. Got a few juices and went to town. I've vaped off It a few times and enjoyed it but again went back to smoking and just never bought one myself. A new vape shop opened down the street from my house and this was the best and possibly the worst thing that could happen! I picked up a beginner set on Monday, (ego 1100) from a stand in the mall before I new the local shop opened. Paid 70 bucks for and realized later that evening I got ripped off. Came with one battery and one disposable clearomizer.. It was a joke an I was pi$$ed off and just about have up on it. Then I drove past this new shop, had to go in, and fell in love. I was able to return the first setup, purchased a vision vv 900 that's much more consistent than the ego and got rid if the cheap clearomizers! Got a bottom fed smoktech Pyrex aro 2 and it hits so good. Also picked up a Vivi nova which Is probably my favorite so far. I was in the shop last night for awhile looking at mods and I like the ease of use and consistency of the mechanicals but the vv/Vw seem to be great as well. Think I'm going to invest in an atomizer and start building my own coils in the future. What are your opinions on what I should go with next!?!? Thanks for reading and I look forward to becoming a part of this community!

Welcome to ECF!

Mechanicals with rebuildable attys are a great way to go as you don't have to pay upwards of $3 or more every time to change a coil. With rebuildables... changing a coil is EXTREMELY cheap. I get my wire for 25 cents a foot (sometimes less) and a $3 bag of organic cotton balls which will last a LONG time... If you desire to go into rebuildables and mechanical mods make sure you look up how to do it properly and safely. It is worth it if you plan of vaping awhile and want more performance for cheaper. In the end the best way is whatever way keeps you off them smokies!

I want to blow clouds and clouds lol definitely plan on vaping for awhile to come. A. Because I always enjoyed smoking so this is like 1000 times better, more flavor, more Vape less harm and B. well I don't think I really need a b at this point lol

Then a mechanical mod, a good battery, and a rebuildable atty sounds like a perfect match for you!

Hey Thatguy717 glad to see you found us
Sounds like you got the correct set up for now but I would like to give you a little more info to base future decisions on

Mechanical vaping devices are generally considered an extremely advanced device used mainly for subohm builds. They will start at 4.2 volts when you first install a freshly charged battery and will slowly get weaker as you use it and the battery charge wears down - you will need to monitor your battery with a separate multimeter to make sure you do not discharge the battery too low. You need to be very careful with the builds you make for it to make sure you do not overtax the battery.

VV/VW regulated mods - Very simple to use, all of the safety is built into them (unless you have a damaged battery but most have a thermal shutdown) they cover the most common voltages and wattages (most people will vape between 3.6 and 4.6 volts and 6.5 to 10 watts.

in regards to rebuilding atomizers, You can do this with the vv/vw regulated mods as most will have an ohm meter built in to check your ohms, and will also detect shorts and not fire (mechs will not do this and shorts are very dangerous), you are limited to building 1.3 ohm or larger coils (most common resistance is going to be between 1.5 and 2.4 ohms)

hope this helps some

and welcome to the ECF

I was actually just looking at the spot in Hanover thanks for telling me about it. Got a few around here that I'm looking into but only on place carries mechanical mods (at least that shows on the website) so I'm going to venture out and do some shopping sometime. My brother-in-law lives out towards reading and he said there are a few legit spots out that way I'll have to check out too.
