Hey guys i recently decided to finally quit smoking and bought a v2 starter kit about two months ago before i discovered this wonderful site. The v2 has been ok but i now want to move up to something better. Ive been lurking around for a while now and im not sure what to get. Im not sure if i should go with the riva 510 kit which everybody seems to like or if i should just jump onto a 5v box mod that madvapes sells. The box mod with everything i need costs about 60 bucks which is the most i want to spend right now. What do you guys think?

With the Riva you have two batts so you can vape two different flavors at the same time. That sounded weird. You know what I mean. But a 5v is going to give you a nice big hit. On the other hand, the LR supplies out now just keep getting better and better for Fat Batts/3.7 PVs. I'd say as good as 6v vaping on my SB and Omega (no kidding). I'd choose Riva. Or the box mod. Nice choices to toss and turn about :)

Wow thanks for the quick replies. I was leaning more towards the box mod and i think thats what iam going to get. The nice bigger hits do sound nice :). Just one more questing that might sound dumb. If i want to use an atomizer do i just hook it up put a couple drops of RY4 in (my favorite so far) and start vaping or will i need a cartridge or something else inside the atomizer?. All ive used so far are cartomizers. Thanks for all the help.

The nice thing about the box mod is when you go to replace the batteries. Much more wallet friendly. :vapor:

edit: Yes you can directly drip into the atty. There several threads about that. If you use the cartridges, they don't hold much liquid and they need to be refilled after about 2 cigs worth of puffs (ymmv). I recommend trying the 2.5 ohm bauway ce2 clones that madvapes has.

Blow out the new atty in case there is any machine oil in there. Attach the atty, drip 5-6 drops to prime for first vape. Pop on a drip tip. Don't inhale the first 5 or so vapes. Add 2-3 drops as tastes begins to diminish, depending how big your dripper dropper is. Pushing the fire button a few seconds before vaping will give you a nice, warm cigarette-like hit. It'll take a few days to totally break in your atty. Good luck.

The Riva 510 kits at Liberty-Flights.com are 3.7v. The Riva 510's at other maybe from the other manufacturer or not the latest version. LF sells a lot of them so their kits are all currently the new 3.7 version the one manufacturer makes.

if you go to 5v or 6v you will be using standard resistance attys/cartos are your LR and you won't be able to use some of the LR stuff 3.7 batteries can use. Personal opinion I would go 3.7 or got variable that includes the high voltage as well as 3.7. Cheapest evercool vv box I have seen is Old Goat's - I think $55 then you need to get the charger and batteries.

You can use ANY atty or carto with a 5 volt PV. Hundreds of us use dual coil cartomizers regularly with 5 volt models. I know people who use LR attys with their 5 volt devices. I don't but some do. Since you have never vaped at 5 volts it makes little sense to be telling people about vaping at 5 volts.

To the OP, the 5 volt box mod looks like a nice deal. You will definitely get warmer vaper with the 5 volt box mod. And the batteries are much less expensive, $4 - $5 instead of $14 - $20 for the Riva PV. The Riva does a nice job, also, however, just not able to produce vapor as warm as the 5 volt model.

Another good supplier and well supported on ECF of box mods is Kens: Ken's Box Mods
