Two 3.2 ohm attys should work as long as you are using protected batteries that will allow the power draw? With 1 coil things you should be able to use down to your voltage minus 2 or maybe even minus 2.2. So individual atty-wise 3.2 is LR for you but should be fine if you are using protected batteries. What I don't know about is the total power draw - some mods reject that and refuse to run. But I am no expert so wait until someone who uses them answers.

And don't use that PT on a PC USB or a battery charger USB. Get a 2amp 5v USB to AC. I recommend Rosewill RUC6180 from Amazon - it has 4 ports so you can EITHER charge 4 batteries OR use a PT.

The 1.5ohm Dual Coils are designed for use on 3.x volt devices.

At 5V, that thing would draw 3.33 Amps, a total of 16W of power which is totally crazy - I'm not aware of any regulated mod that will support this: the variable voltage Provari has an Amp cutoff at 2.5Amps, and the variable power Darwin has, I believe, a power cutoff at 12W.

Avid Vaper has Clear Dual Coils available in 2.5ohms, which are a more reasonable (but still on the high end) 2Amps / 10W at 5V. I tend to use them between 4.5 to 4.7V.

Wow, thanks for posting that link.

I'm loving 1.5 ohm Smoke Tech DC Cartos on my 900ma Ego's. Wife will not part with her 510mega's using the same. Contrary to all guidance, the LR cartos have been working just fine with the 510 mega's, but I'm sure the 2 or 2.5 DC cartos would be better. We both like the clear carto's, but they do tend to break on the 510's. No problem on mine since I do use a cone modified to fit snugly over the carto, with a small hole drilled in the cone for airflow. Gives the carto support and all but eliminates breakage.

One thing that I do to "save" a cracked clear carto is flip the plastic over, the use a condom with the top cut off on the drip tip end to stop air leaks.

Yep. It's going to be hot as heck. It's just personal preference. You may wake up with a sore throat doing 5v at 1.5 ohms, but you may also take smaller drags, so in the end, it's all up to you.

Just make sure that whatever is powering it, can handle the load. You will be drawing a fair bit of current.

I find it's not hot at all. Nice and warm but not hot.

Thanks for so many responses, everyone! I didn't expect such a huge turnout. I was trying the mega dual-coil version that was in stock last week and my PT won't even heat those up, but they work fantastically on the 3.7v stuff I have laying around. A bit cooler than I'm used to, and for some reason the vapor production isn't living up to my expectations, but still a nice smoke.

I'm going to see how they do on the 5v box mod when I wrap it up this week, I'm really hoping that the benefits I've heard about from going to 5v (warmer vapor, more flavor, etc.) will help get me past the analogue urges...

Thanks again everyone, nice to have such a response after being a long time lurker. :D

You should love the dual coil's on your 5 volt box mod. BUT, just make sure you have high drain batteries or they could trip the protection circuit in regular li-on batteries.

I use these cartomisers on mmy madvapes 5 v box and it works very well
I'm currently looking at the following for my new 5v passthrough and mod box:
MadVapes 510 Dual Coil Stainless Cartomizer

Would this be decent for 5v? I know they should be able to handle more (higher ohms = better for higher voltage), but I'm not sure what the acceptable ranges are.
