Noob support: Did I Kill My Battery?

Hey all! I'd have posted in support, but, anti-spam rule.

I got a VX2 from Litecig last week, and today I began experimenting with liquid/blank cartridges, moving on from the pre-packaged Marlboro flavour. After watching one of the Intro to vaping videos, I filled a cart using the paper clip technique, and made sure not to put in enough fluid to bubble over, and it worked great... at first. The battery I was using became extremely sensitive, turning on when I would, for example, shake it back and forth a little bit. It would activate in my pocket from the motion of walking.

I think some fluid may have gotten into the battery. Is there a way to clean it out? Is the battery knackered? And what is the best way to prevent this happening again?

Always store your ecig with the filter down. This will help prevent the liquid from entering the pressure switch in the battery.
