I am just starting my fourth day without an analog after 9 years of smoking. I have spent the last few days (and not a little money) experimenting and researching. I have learned so much from this forum, I thought maybe a few of my thoughts might be helpful to someone else.
I purchased a Joyetech eGo-C starter kit with the extended battery. I did not know ANYTHING about vaping, my only experience had been with Blu e-cigs (which was awful).
There is so much expertise on the forum, I won't try to pretend that I am knowledgeable, but here is what I have discovered personally:
1 - I was blown away at how effective the eGo-C is, I felt the burn, and the vape was amazing - I knew the second i took my first hit I could really do it.
2 - My initial experiences with excessive leaking was agonizing. I feel like it is the biggest threat to the conversion from analog. It was awful. I would take them in my car and the liquid would flood out and cause a mess. I fiddled with all the parts, cleaned them, watched videos, and still nothing but leakage and frustration.
3 - The ends in my starter kit tips/clear tanks were hard, and i learned that there are several factors that cause leakage. One is that the hole can get too big for the atomizer from excessive changes. Secondly that there were soft ends and leakage prevention caps available that helped many people - but not everyone.
4 - I decided to try getting an EVOD Kanger Clearomizer for one of my batteries. I was stoked because it was so much more simple and streamlined than the interchangeable parts. I tried it and it was even WORSE. It almost immediately made that awful gurgling sound and spit the liquid back into my mouth.
5 - As a last attempt to address my issues, i visited a different local vape store. The guy there had me buy the PRO coil for my Evod and told me it would make all the difference. HE WAS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. The Evod with a pro coil is everything i hoped for. The vape is amazing, and no leakage in an entire day.
6 - I didn't want to give up on the interchangeable eGo-C system though - So i got some soft tip clear tanks while i was there. So far, I haven't had any problems with it since. I plan on leaving it at home, and using my EVOD for when I am at work. For people with atomizer problems, i also discovered some good videos online with advice.
Overall - My advise is really this to newbies: Don't give up if you have a bad experience initially. There is alot of great information on this forum. Don't be scared to spend a little extra up front to try different set ups - and don't be afraid to visit one or two different vape stores for advice. Most experts are great, but some are a little stuck up and (dare I say) a little too immersed in their subculture to remember that everyone starts somewhere, and we all need help for the big switch.
I hope this might be of use to SOMEONE. As for me, I am ready for day 5 with no analog.
Also, thanks to everyone who submits their experiences - it is very important knowledge for us Padawans.
