Noob to Vaping

Hello everyone my name is Megan.

Before Monday(4/7/14) I had been smoking cigarettes since I was 12(am currently 26 now). I've smoked everything from Marlboros to the cheapest things ever(they call them filtered cigars....but I smoked them like real cigarettes). Finally my wife and I put our feet down and decided to try vaping after my dad(who had also been smoking cigarettes for 36 years) has been cigarette-free now for 3 weeks(and vouches for this whole vaping thing). In fact, my whole family has joined the vaping-bandwagon!! lol!!

So I am going on day 3 of 100% no real cigarettes(and thank god for the vaping because it has definitely helped me).

I am looking for as much advice(or encouragement) as possible. I've only tried to quit smoking once in my life and it was after I had my daughters(and lasted for only 6wks). But I'm pretty sure this won't be so hard because I have the hand-to-mouth ritual going on.

And I really am glad to have found a forum like this because I really want to find companies that are tried and true and trustworthy!

Well thanks for listening to me!!! :vapor:

The best thing is to go into it with an open mind. Not everything that works for others will work for you. Not every juice that satisfies others will satisfy you. It may take some time to find your perfect setup and juice to reach vaping nirvana but keep at it and you'll get there. Keep in mind that vaping is not a cure all for smoking. There will still be some withdraw, some cravings. Good days and bad days. Like anything else you want in life, you'll need to work at it. But it's a great alternative to what's available and has helped tons of people, me included, to quit and stay quit. Good luck, you can do it.

Congrats and welcome!

The best advice I can give is to NOT give up! I started vaping about a year ago, and instead of working through my frustrating moments, I gave up vaping and went back to the stinkies. Now here I am, back and 150% ready to just be done with these nasty, life stealing analogs. Like mentioned above, you will have trials and tribulations, it doesn't just come easy for most of us, lots of trial and error with batteries, atty's, mods, juice, etc....But the frustration is not worth the burden you put on your body to pick up another cigarette. If you're ever feeling like you just want to rip the socks off of someone and strangle them in their own feet stench, make a post here....it and we will help! Nothing that is good for you is easy, or fun all the time, but it's worth it in the end. Good luck!!

I find that when I have the urge for a burner, simply reading the posts on this forum and vaping the whole time helps it pass. Like you, I'm 5 days off the cigs (1 PAD for 25 years) recently. I really enjoyed smoking and part of me still doesn't want to quit--I originally picked up vaping to cut down and maybe save a few bucks. However, three weeks in, the cigarettes weren't tasting as great as they once did and I decided that instead of buying more, I'd see how far I could go without them. Five days later....

I to have been trying to quit cigarettes, my best advice for you would be don't be to hard on yourself.

I still smoke a cig here and there but when I do I have my Sentinel with me and hit them both.
That way I can tell myself "Darn do cigarettes really taste this bad" and sure enough they taste more and more
bad as the days pass.

Good luck and vape on lol.
