So I'm vaping an Aspire nautilus with a ProVari mod at 3.5 volts. I looked at a chart online which indicates that this produces nominal functionality. So here's my question: At these settings the unit produces a consistent low gurgling/poping sound. It's always a uniform noise, never louder or softer. Is this normal? I conjecture that this is the coil atomizing the fluid. I also figure that if I don't hear the noise, I'm flooding the coil which could lead to scorched fluid. Am I on the right track? Any help would be appreciated!

Gurgling could mean that too much juice is in your coil. I haven't used the Nautilus, as I moved on from clearos before it was released for sale, but I know with most bottom coil tanks you can blow through the bottom to blow excess juice out through the drip tip. Also, adjusting the airflow could help as well. Make it larger, and the looser draw would prevent you from pulling in too much juice when you take a hit. Finally, as bottom coils have a vacuum effect going on, sometimes removing the base and putting it back on releases some of the pressure and stops the gurgling.
the sizzle popping is normal, when you quit hearing it is when the wick is dry and that will start the burning flavor. An over saturated wick wont burn the juice as long as you are drawing on it... if you held the button down for an extended period of time without having airflow, then yes, enuf heat will be created to cook the juice....
Are you getting good vapor? The popping is the coil vaporizing, more gurgling suggest it's flooding. Volts *volts /ohms = watts so right now your around 6.8 watts. If your getting good vapor great if not take your voltage up some
A Gurgling sound is Almost Always a Sign that too much e-Liquid is reaching the Coil. And with a Flooded Coil/Wick, it is Very Hard to Scorch the e-Liquid.
People will Usually Increase the Voltage slightly to solve this.
