Just got my starter pack Friday and have to say that I love it minus a few issues and had a few questions for anyone that has a volcano.

When I put in a new cartridge, I'll get probably 8 good vapor hits then it starts to slack off. I'll still get vapor production but not nearly the same and no throat hit. If I wait about 10 minutes, I'll get 1 or 2 good throat hits and then back to the small vapor, no throat. I was wondering what might cause this. I do check the atomizer for the foil left on the prefilled cartridges and remove that if there is any there.

I've 'cleaned' the atomizer once but only with hot water and blowing through it.

I've read there are few good atomizers that you can replace. Any recommendations?

Also battery life. Horrible by my standard but have nothing to compare to. I'm now getting maybe 1 battery per cartridge before I have to swap out. I'm very glad I bought the back with 2 batteries because of this. Does this seem normal or low to you?

Thanks for the help!

The reason for flavor dropping off is the small carts don't hold much liquid on the volcano. It is easiest to have a bunch of carts filled and just switch them out often. Batteries last about as long as most other type starter kits. You can get mega batts with 510 ecig and they last longer. Personally I don't find it much trouble to switch batts out every hour or so, just make sure you have extra batteries and you will be good to go. Plus you can use your charging case to charge one at all times.

The Volcano was my first PV, I sold it and tried the 401, KR8 but my fav is the 510. Good luck and welcome to vaping.

    Thanks :>

But what's weird about the flavor dropping off is that if I wait 10 minutes, I'll get a couple good drags. Is this due to the juice having time to collect on the atomizer maybe?

This has been the standard complaint about these models. The tiny battery is nice and small, like a regular cig, but you don't get much life from it. That is just the way it goes. I also have the Volcano kit, and Blu kit (L88B), and quickly moved up to the 510 (which is compatible with the L88B model), from there I got an eGo (long battery life and works with 510/L88B atty's) and now I am moving into mods that use rechargeable batteries that I can replace for much less money, they go all day between charges, and won't have to be thrown away until the piece itself fails.

As far as vapor goes, it's also one of the down sides to the tiny cart, and the juice that is in them isn't up to most people's standards. I can say that the volcano is good if you are not a heavy vaper, and just need a little nic fix once in a while, or if you don't mind dripping/dipping instead of using the carts. If you want more performance than that, I would either go for a 510 mod, or maybe an eGo, that will work with your volcano atomizer, but you might have to drip/dip or regularly top off the cart to get more than a few puffs since the carts are so little if you use the L88B atomizer. I have learned a lot in the last few weeks, and would advise that when you go to spend more money, to steer away from the stock batteries, and go for a model that you won't have to throw away a few months after you get it (like the chuck or little chuck for example) There are a lot of choices out there and it's hard to know what is the best for your needs, so do your homework, and hopefully you will find something that will work for you. FYI Volcano is about to release a 510 model (Magma) so if you want to keep going through them (good customer service and warranty, fast shipping) keep an eye out for the new model in the next few weeks. Also another good, low cost mod is the Laser mod (Iken) that I just got, and it's works good too. Unfortunately all of these devices will eventually fail, either a button will go bad, or a spring will break, etc... but some will last much longer than others depending on use and how well it's kept, and might be able to fix if it should fail.
Just my advice after spending a lot of money on e cig parts...
    Good luck to ya!

Lot's of people complain about L88b model cart's where it will stop at half full, have experienced it myself few times as well. I think using either blue form or fluval helps quiet a bit with this issue.
if you are heavy smoker guess going for 510 is probably better choice, as it gives good and even vapor production on each draw, I've received Magma pre-order start kit from Volcano which is 510 model and it is simply awesome, love their new PCC

I have a blu and the only way I've gotten much enjoyment out of it is by filling my own carts and using a blue foam plug. There are posts in the model specific forum for blu on filling carts. Just be careful how much you put in the carts as i have flooded many times before I got it right. Also look at your attys, I have gotten both high and low bridge from Blu. that caused alot of frustration. You can also get a manual Sideshow batt that will work with your atty, best investment I've made for my blu.
