Not a good idea to be putting petroleum or oil based products on any part of vape gear that might result in you inhaling that stuff. (See: lipoid pneumonia) That's what e-liquid is for on o-rings instead.

how about burts bees wax would that be a non petroleum based product adequate for lubing o rings

Not knowing the safety of vaorizing bees wax... I would just lube the rings with your E Juice..

Granted bees wax and petrolatum are great (created) for lubing an O-ring, and are both FOOD GRADE. You might want to consider that, We are not EATING from our vaporizers..

#1) I personally will be trying the Burts bees wax for a while but will go to only VG as an O ring lube soon..
#2) what was importantly pointed out to me in this thread was --lipoid pneumonia-- NOT GOOD !!!!!

I have no idea about components of Burts bees wax, but judging by the name in have a beeswax. Beeswax consists mostly from fatty acids (read: oil), so I would not want to vape it.

Thanks to pointing to lipoid pneumonia. Shows that we do have risks associated with not properly prepared juices.

Why not just use juice or pure VG. No harm in vaping those
