Each Weds I will post an old show, toy, product, song, or etc for us to be nostalgic about.
This week I am nostalgic for the band Smashing Pumpkins. Or rather, who they were in and around the 90s. I know they are back together again, but it's just not the same. Nevertheless, I am a fan of theirs until I die, I just love SP!!! Billy Corgan grew up in my state, IL, too.
While not a complete fanatic of the band, they were often in my top 3 growing up and I saw them in concert in 1996. It was the best concert I ever went to!! They really rocked it out lol. They even had some people dressed up in costumes bring some fans on the stage.
I used to have that Zero shirt too lol.
My favorite CD of theirs came out in the late 90s - Adore. I LOVED and still love to listen to that CD. I don't know why that one did not become more popular.
Billy Corgan dated Courtney Love for a little while too. I was a big SP fan but an even bigger Nine Inch Nails and Hole fan in my teenage years. After they broke up though, she had some bad things to say about him. Not a surprise though that Courtney Love would trash talk someone lol. She also dated Trent Reznor in the past too.
In my opinion, Smashing Pumpkins is one of the best rock bands EVER. There is so much emotion in his voice, and the lyrics are awesome. I also love the band's style.
Back when music videos were popular and even artistic, they had some great videos.
I gotta say I like Billy's hair shaved best. He's had it short and he's had it long and Eddie Vedder looking lol. But I think how he has it now is HIM lol.
