Hello and welcome to the forum @Somar. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member @Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.
Here are a few more links from New Members Information <= Link covers many topics. Here are two of them:
Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Some juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.

Hi, I'm Somar, based in Berlin, Germany and I am not a vaper yet.

I went from full smoking to smoking shisha only once a week.... Now I want to vape only! I am here to find some information and then take the plunge on a machine, liquids, the correct batteries and chargers.

Guten Tag und herzlich Willkommen Somar.

1. Mods: This is a Huge category and we could help you better if you could tell us a bit about how you would like to vape. For example do you just want a small portable device that looks like a cigarette? Perhaps you want something a little bigger like an EGO battery style? Perhaps a small mod that can do temperature control, or do you want something huge that seems like a portable fog machine?

Here is a forum with all of those you might look through: E-Cigarette Reviews

2. Liquids: I cannot tell you what liquid you like, you will probably need to tell us what sort of flavor you are interested in to get recommendations there. Similar to pommes frites, some like ketchup and others like mayonnaise.

General DIY information, that I stole from@Susan~S ( with her permission so I am not sorry :) ) just in case you might find it useful.

For all things DIY head on over to the DIY ELiquid Forum. Lots of great info in all the "stickies" Below is the information@Susan~S often gives to members new to DIY.
  • Dannyv45's blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice. => dannyv45 - Blogs
  • Hoosier's blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives. =>Hoosier - Blogs
  • For a juice mixing calculator consider using eJuiceMeUp
Here are some threads you may like to read through for different flavoring companies. Many of the posts include recipes and comments about a specific flavor.

Nicotine Comparisons <= They don't all taste the same.
DIY Recipe Sites & Misc Links
3. Batteries:

Stolen from @Susan~S (with her permission)
Here are several great blog posts by @Baditude (one of ECF's battery safety experts).

(9) Battery Basics for Mods; the Ultimate Battery Guide | E-Cigarette Forum

A popular and essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

(11) Deeper Understanding of Mod Batteries - Part II | E-Cigarette Forum

For those who want to learn the differences between IMR, IMR/hybrid, ICR, and LiPo batteries. What do those numbers and letters on batteries mean? What's an amp rating and why is it more important than the mAh rating when choosing a battery for vaping?

(12) Deeper Understanding of Mod Batteries - Part I | E-Cigarette Forum

Protected vs unprotected batteries - what's the difference? Ohm's Law 101. What is an AW battery? What is an inline fuse? What is stacking batteries?

4: Chargers you may or may not need, depending on the mod you select, some have built in non-removable batteries which you can simply plug in to charge, some have replaceable batteries with an included on board charging option, others do not and have replaceable batteries that require a separate charger. I know from spending 3 years in Germany that you are probably using 220v power in Berlin, so make sure any charger you get supports that voltage and power plug type. I would suggest this for most of your battery charging needs: http://www.amazon.de/Nitecore-i4-Intellicharge-Ladegerät-Li-Ion/dp/B007R5Y7DW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449406610&sr=8-1&keywords=NITECORE+i4

I hope this gets you started and is helpful.

EDIT: I see @Susan~S beat me to the punch!

In the meantime enjoy this clip, I thought it suitable :)

Cowtown, USA. Where the West begins.
haha that is a warm welcome, thanks everybody! :)

I thinks there is enough here to get through my sunday. Let's see what the best way is to start
sound plan. Look around the board, Google some gear, and post us a new thread when you've got your mind about made up to buy. We can keep you from making a noob mistake, or tell you how to dial it in for starters.

Try the ijust2. I would recommend this kit to anyone just starting or even people who have vaped for years. The battery is compatible with several sub-ohm tanks like the arctic and Atlantis and honestly the tank it comes with is pretty impressive itself. It was my first kit and I love it. It's terribly simple. Just one button. Good flavor, good clouds and around $40(US $ anyways.) I am by no means an expert but this vape was my life saver for quitting analogs. Hope it helps
