Not all EVOD's are created equal?

So I bought some kangertech evod's and loved how they hit, airy draw and fit perfect on my mvp v2. I then decided to buy some more n these are horrible. First they worked on by just screwing in directly to my mvp v2, but the draw was awful, like a milkshake awful. So then I put on my ego/503 adapter and though that helped the draw immensely, it freaking looks terrible n won't even sit flush with my beauty ring n tilts. I tried hitting it again without the adapter and my mvp v2 won't even read it anymore (NON); it only reads it with the adapter now. :/ The logos are placed different on the two different sets I got and the first set came with a 1.8 ohm coil while the other came with a 2.5 ohm coil. Both are reputable vendors. So what happened? Has anyone had the same experience? The pic shows the two different evods. The pink works perfect with my mvp v2 and has a logo on the tank as well as the head. EVOD's.jpg

So my pink one has four windows and the black one has two. Both have three air holes at the base, but the pink's is just a tad bit smaller...

So much for my reputable vendor. Thing is I like my knock off better!

I also bought an Aspire Nautilus from the same company I bought the pink one from. It gurgles, leaks, AND still leaves a burnt taste. I've switched out atomizers n got the same results minus the burnt taste. It had a legit scratch code too. I'm going to email the vendor and see what they about the Nautilus n let them know their EVOD's aren't legit. :/

Thanks for the info!

My nautilus sucked too. I only got it to work right for about Q full tank after I think 4 different heads. That thing was complete junk. I prefer my pt2's and davide with aerobase on them Actually both your Evods look different then legit to me. I haven't seen any with branding on the base. I have only see real ones with Evod on the actual tank. I could be wrong on though. So many clones, can't keep up with them all. Add revisions from authentic gear and it gets even more confusing.

The MVP does have a known problem of the 510 connector being ever so slightly longer than standard, which can cause connection problems with some devices like you are experiencing with the real EVOD. It does make me wonder if there is a difference between that coil in the knockoff and the real EVOD. I've seen fake coils where the center post is both larger and crude compared to a real PT coil. In this case that's actually working for you. You may be able to see a difference in the look of those center posts just by turning both upside down and looking at them without removing the coils from the base.

Some people go as far as filing down the 510 connector on the MVP to fix the "too long" problem going on there. Not sure what procedure they are using to do that without damaging the MVP in the process.
