Not finding anything on how to build a stand alone pass through.

I could be missing it; since, I'm still working on the language, etc. But, does anyone know of any good tutorials here on how to build a stand alone pass through? In case I have the term wrong, I'm wanting to try to build something that would replace the battery, for times when I'm just laying around on the computer, watching tv, etc. It wouldn't need to be fancy and complex, just not burn out attys/carts and provide a good vape without wearing out my battery supply while I chain vape.

I'm sort of brainstorming here; and, I hope I'm not suggesting something totally unsafe and/or unworkable; but, has anyone tried using a 3.7(ish)VDC "wall wart" wired into the empty (dead battery removed) shell of a 510 threaded cig-a-like (prob. with a switch added in-line)? Maybe inserted into a flashlight body; kind of like a flashlight mod; but, without a battery? If so, was any other circuitry needed due to the mA of the wall wart; or, was it simply a matter of soldering the wires and insulating the connections? (I should add that I'd be screwing on my 3.5~6ml tanks on, NOT using the filter-like cartos.)

Any ideas? Am I "way out in left field" with this idea? (I've only been into vaping for a couple of months; so, admittedly, I "know just enough to be dangerous...")
:p

Bump... I know this might sound like a weird question; but, I'm serious about wanting to put something like this together, for when I'm laying around chain vaping. (My 4 batteries - 1x650, 1x1100, & 2x1350's) are starting to act up (after less than 2 months); and, on my (broken shoestring) budget, it's going to be a while before I can upgrade to anything that would use an 18650. If I can throw something like this together, I can probably milk my batteries long enough to be able to buy or build something better.

A passthrough is a simple circuit consisting of a power source, a switch, and a load, with maybe a regulator or resistance added if the voltage from the power source is too high. The simplest one i've seen is some guy too an old USB cable, and an old car charger he had lying around, ripped apart the old manual 510, cut the non-USB end off of the cable, and cut the part that goes into the car cigarette lighter off, threw the 510 switch and connector into the car charger, soldered up the ground and power, and covered it all in electrical tape. Pretty, no. But, it worked. I think I read somewhere that voltage out of a computer USB is 5 volts, and I know they make 5 volt mods, but you could always regulate it down to 3.7v.

GREAT INFO!!! THANK YOU folks!!!

Sorry about not getting back here for a couple of days; but, I had to take a friend to the airport; and, when I got back one of my dogs was pretty badly injured. I've been having to spend pretty much all my time tending to her and her wounds. :(

While in OKC, I picked up a couple of 5V wall warts for this project; and, once I can get her where she doesn't need almost constant attention, I'm looking forward to getting started on this project.
