Not much vapor from my new 510???

Assuming you charged the batteries for at least an hour or 2. Are you using the prefilled carts by chance?
A lot of carts aren't "topped off" all the way by the time we get them. You might try putting a drop or 2 right on the atty bridge & then making sure your cart is full & wet but NOT puddling.
Also it seems some 510 atty's take a little time to break in. Usually no more than 1 day.
I'm sure someone else will chime in with something I'm not thinking of.

In your bushes, watching you undress
Atty needs to break in. Mine took about 2 days of vaping to break in and then gave TONS of vapor, I wouldn't worry.

Just remember you are not drawing on it like a cigarette. Do a primer puff, then WHILE the LED is still lit, get your good, long, smooth draw as long as you can draw it for, then inhale.

A tip for you... don't screw the atomizer and battery together too tightly. Screw it down snug, then back it off a tad. Not enough to be loose though. This allows more airflow and gives you much more vapor.

No I did not charge for 2 hours... I read in other posts that some come charged, I put it on the charger it turned green in about 10 minutes, so I assumed I was good to go! Ooops. The other battery has been on for about an hour now, so I will make sure I don't make the same mistake twice!

My carts came empty and dry... I filled with them with liquids that came with my first delivery. As directed I squeezed and rinsed the stuffing then dried it then put it back then put in about 10 drops. I did make the mistake of over filling, there was that drop of liquid on top that I guess I was supposed to get rid of. (live & learn) I also put two drops on the atomizer!

I also blew out the new atomizers... it seemed to be dry nothing came out.

So does all this also account for the lousy burnt taste, I assume that will go away as well at least I hope!

You don't have to charge these batteries for any specific time. Only until the light on the charger turns from red to green. After it's green it's done no matter how much more time goes by. Leaving it on the charger will not hurt it or help after the light turns green.

It seems to be getting a little better. I went through way to much liquid today testing things and playing around... Tried the tea bag mod, but it didn't hit at all... guess I did something wrong there! Gonna have the husband give it a try!

I do have another question.... (go figure, me with more questions, who woulda guessed) I have two degrees and I really feel like an idiot with those whole thing... I think all the nicotine is going to my head and making me a little ditsy.

Any way, I've read several posts informing me that I should have an extra supply of atomizers, how often do they go out? Does this mean that every time an atty goes out you have to start from scratch with the horrible taste all over? I have been avoiding my other atty like it has the plague hoping I can get the husband to break it in. Hasn't any one come up with some trick to speed up the break in period?

As I am new, I am not sure of all the answers, but I know what I have read. I know that some people have said that the attys sometimes have went out in a couple of weeks (they may have been doing something wrong) and some say that they last months on end. I don't think that anyone knows for certain what their life span can be.

Also, I actually was having trouble today and figured out that I needed to clean my unit. But before that, I switched my atty out and saw that I was going to have to go through the whole "not much taste priming process" or whatever, and switched back to the original atty. It didn't taste bad, but it just didn't have any kick since I hadn't used it yet.

But yeah, I learned that after my 3 days of use that I needed to clean it, for sure. So don't forget to do that once in a while. Some great threads here on how to properly clean them. Also, check out MoobyGhosts video on the Pyramid teabag mod and make sure that you get those specific teabags or it will not work.

Little by little my 1st atty is improving. I decided today to alternate between the two so when it came time to use the other I didn't have to start from scratch with the break in... That was a mistake. As soon as Iput it on I could tell how well the 1st one has broken in. My husband came along and tried it and didn't think it was as bad as I, so I am letting him use the 2nd 510 setup until his gets here next week... Then it will be all borken in! It seems the only draw back is going to breaking in new atty's... I have 4 new ones on the way for me and the husband (2 in his kit & two additional) so that will make 6 all together for the both us... is that enough?

It seems the only draw back with this new habbit will be when the atty's do go it will never be pleasant to start a new one... But on the brite side, this will be 2 full days with my new toy, smoked to analogs today and 6 yesterday (was smoking close to 2 packs a day b4 that!)

I still am having a few issues. I thought with the 510 you are supposed to be able to drip directly on the atomizer and this will produce more vapor and more flavor, when I do this it almost shuts down the e-cig completely... almost zero vapor and nearly no taste. I am only dripping two drops on there so what am I doing wrong?

My 510 took around 2 weeks to break in but I was also switching back and forth between that and the 4081 model. I have used my same 510 atty since I started (about 6 weeks at this point) and I have not had an issue with the atty yet (*knocks on wood). The only maintenance that I do is to blow it out about once a week or so. Also, in the vapor dept, I use more VG which normally produces more vapor than PG. I never drip onto the atty and it seems okay.

I just got my 510 today. It definitely was slow going for the first 20 puffs or so, then it picked up on the vapor. I'm hoping it will do even better in a few days.

As for the taste, yeah it sucks. I just hope it'll wear off soon. ihhhhhkhh

Yeah, the primer is pretty gross.

You can blow most of that out from the battery end of the atty and drip a couple drops of liquid back in (important!!!) on the bridge of the atty to reprime. Then put your cart back on and take a few puffs to get the liquid flowing. Helps to get the primer out quicker and get better flavor. Wish I had know that when I started!! Good luck!

I am a new PV user and just got a 501 kit today from Innovapor (about 3 or 4 days for shipping - good). Even though I've read through a lot of this site and was prepared for a break-in period for the atty, I am very disappointed in the taste I'm getting - presumably from the primer liquid (I did try to blow this out of the atty and add 2 drops liq). It's a very nasty oily taste :( . I am trying to intermittently puff the 501 lightly like a cigar at the moment to try to get rid of this taste, while sticking with my analogs at a lower frequency.

It would be nice if the retailers warned us a little more about this problem. I knew about from this site and am still a little upset. It is a disquieting thing to face giving up analogs, and all the more so when the first taste of the presumed substitute tastes like crap. For a person who had no prior knowledge of the primer liquid and break-in period for this product, I would guess the first reaction would be more than 'a little upset'.

Anyway, does anyone know a way of getting rid of this primer taste other than just vaping it away ?

thanks - Jim eeeeeeep ! 8-o ( my sound for a mouse = 'Laoshu' )

I am still waiting for an answer to INSTANTLY get rid of the lousy taste myself as I am not looking forward to breaking in the other attys I got int he future. That being said... Hang in there, it took about 24 hours and now mine is MUCH nicer.

I still am unable to successfully drip directly into the atty, when I have tried vapor production, flavor, everything has come to halt and I have to puff on it really hard for a while to get it working again, so I have decided to stop trying.

I've also gotten a bunch of different flavors to try, but it seems that the atty is retaining the flavor of the RY4 I've been using. Any advise on ways to sample?

Finally if I wanted to put a few drops of vanilla extract into some of the flavors to boost the tast experience would that ruin the atty or the liquid?
