I just received a bunch of flavors to try some dyi juices but the result is not what I was hoping for.
I feel a throat hit but it taste more like alcohol. Not much vapor exhaled. The mix I used was for 10ml batch at 70/30% pg/vg.
This is what the calculations came out to be.

Nicotine 60mg pg base
2.83 ml
56.67 drops
28.333 %
PG
3.6 ml
73.3 drops
36.667 %
VG
2.5 ml
50 drops
25 %
black honey tobacco
1 ml
20 drops10 %

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi yellowrider. Lets work through this. First some clarifications.
Whenever talking pg/vg ratios pg is usually first ex. 70/30 = 70%pg,30%vg----40/60 = 40%pg,60%vg,etc.
What is the pg/vg ratio of the 60mg/ml nicotine you started with?
What brand of flavoring are you using?
What is the final ratio of pg/vg you are after(target ratio)?
What is your target nicotine strength?

Ok. If your nic is 100% pg, you would need 3ml nic, 3ml pg, 3ml vg,1ml flavoring for a 70/30 pg/vg 18mg solution with 10% flavoring.
Depending when you made it and tasted, you probably need time for the flavoring to infuse wtih the other ingredients to not have the alcohol taste you are experiencing.

BTW , I haven't used the black honey tobacco flavoring but I looked it up and it is pg based so you need to factor that flavoring as pg when doing your calculations. Too much flavoring can also give an off taste.

I would make a few small batches of the flavor at different percentages and revisit after allowing to sit in a dark, cool place for a week.

One last thought before I retire. If you are using drops as a measurement standard, your final ratios will be unknown as each dropper and each liquid will have a different volume due to dropper size and liquid viscosity. Hopefully you are using syringes or graduated cylinders.

If not,try to procure some. Have fun. There is a bit of a learning curve but don't let that deter you from enjoying yourself.
Happy New Year to you yellowrider.

ETA: Even if using the same dropper for all the liquids, viscosity comes into play.

Good point. I am still in the process of gathering my lab equipment together. Just a few more items and I should be good for a mini lab.
Thanks for the pointers, and I will keep trying. I just spent over 100 bucks on flavors so I cannot get discouraged yet. Kinda pisses me off that the vendor forgot to include caps on my 10 bottles I ordered...
Once again thanks, and Happy New Year to you as well.
