Hi all, I hope I'm the first but not the last person asking this.
-I'm completely overwhelmed by the amount of info on this awesome forum.
-Blu kit is not cutting it
-As soon as I get the throat hit I'm looking for my battery dies.
-I have a budget of $150 (plus however much I spend on e liquid) for a good kit and I'm comfortable filling my own stuff.
So where do I start? I want the Lava Tube 2.0 but it's out of stock for who knows how long, I'm not sure what a decent alternative would be.... I'm not picky I just want a refillable system with a heavy throat hit and a decent battery life. It would also be nice if I could throw it in my pocket at work without soaking my jeans in e juice...
*I apologise if this has already been addressed elsewhere, if so please point me in the right direction. Thanks gals and guys keep vaping-Mike

I started with a disposable blu, then moved onto a V2 starter kit, which is pretty similar. I was having the same issue. Felt like I was constantly having to charge the batteries and the cartridges were inconsistent. I was using 18 in my ecig, by the way. I got an ego kit, which included a charger, a case, a clearomizer, two extra atomizers and three bottles of juice from my local vape shop for $60. AMAZING difference!!! And my new setup lasts all day without having to be charged. And consistent throat hit and vapor everytime. However, I was told to start with 24 since I was a pack a day Pall Mall light smoker. 24 was waaaaaaay to much for me. I was feeling sick, headachy, and extremely anxious, nearly on the verge of tears. I wasn't sleeping either. Switched to 18 today and a little fidgety but much better. I'm thinking I may switch down to 12 and see how that goes.

With your $150 budget, I think you can do really well. So much cheaper than buying analogs. The juice seems to last forever. Good luck!!

I have had a great experience with an eVic PV. I think it was just over $100 with battery and charger. With the 2600mah battery it still has from 60% to 45% left at the end of the day.

Kanger MT3 & protank clearomisers have not leaked in my pants pockets yet, and I do keep them with me at almost all times.

Just got a Zmax V2 today and I like it also, although I think it will not surpass my like for the eVic.

Not the OP but similar situation with me. I have been using Smoke Tip and went to FreedomSmokeUSA.com for a few samples to start refilling with and was looking at switching to a better system.
Could you post some links so I could look at what you got Imags629?

I started with a Metro, then moved on to a Bolt - night and day difference in flavor, vapor and battery life. Now I have a decent collection of PVs going, and consider vaping not only a healthy habit supporter but a pretty dang fun hobby. Stick with it!

Could you post a size comparison pic on that Bolt? I, like the OP would like something that would fit in my pants pocket.

I think a good, and not too expensive device is a eGo Twist. I would buy two of them so one can be charging while the other is in use. I like cartomizer tanks. The refill learning curve is small, and depending on how much you vape, could last you all day.

Look around and do your research. Yes it's overwhelming at first, but the more research you do, the better you'll feel about your purchase. $150 is plenty to get into a new PV. I vaped on a 901 (similar to a blu) for 2 years before upgrading. I went with a Go-go which is awesome. Similar to the ego stuff but better built IMO. Both the tanks and cartos are sweet and the batteries can last for 2 days between charges. It has proprietary threads, so you won't be able to use 510 stuff, but that may save you from trying everything out there. Got mine from Cigeasy.com

But I continued looking for the perfect vape. Just ordered my second Rebuldable(RSST) and a variable Voltage mod (Vamo)

Have fun and happy vaping.

I don't have a Metro anymore to post a comparison, but a Bolt is approximately the diameter of a quarter and a little taller than a credit card is wide; definitely a pocket-friendly mod depending on what you use for a carto/tank.

I started with blus, and battery life drove me crazy. Then 808's that I still use, but mostly now I use a spinner 1300 mah + Kanger T3. In fact I got this setup on recommendations of the good folks here -
(2) 1300 mah Spinners
(2) Kanger T3 clearos
charger and wall cord
All for $69.95 - way under your budget, but I like it.
Good luck!

'm just lucky as my daughter gifted me a KGO Riva starter kit and I really like it. Recently went on a road trip and forgot the charger and purchased a few disposable Blu to get by and really didn't like them, plus they were very expensive in the long run. I did initially look at the Blu kit and so glad I didn't pull the trigger. Just added the Vivi Nova mini tank and so far everything is going great. Good luck with what ever you decide. As a new vapor, I have found the choices are endless and confussing.

I get cartomizers in 5 packs. Personally, I like between 2.5 and 3 oHm, but some people like them a little lower.
510 U-DCTank Combo - 3ml/Mini
510 U-DCTank Combo

You can also get different drip tips, if you don't like the stock one, or get a tank, drip tip, and carto's all separately, if you want.

I like the single coils over the dual coils, especially on a twist.

Should I order extra cartomizers? What's a good resistance?
