i have the joye510 kit, just tried it last night for the first time. the instructions say the atomizer needs breaking in, and to put a drop or two of e-juice directly onto the metal 'bridge of the atomizer'. i hope i put in on the right part, i screwed on the atomizer then dripped some juice on the end that attaches to the cartridge. did i do this right? it also says too much fluid on the bridge will flood the atomizer. i think i flooded the atomizer because i am not getting the least bit of vapor out of it. did i ruin it, if not then how do i fix it? do i need to dry it out from too much e-juice?

i then put together another e-cig and just dripped some e-juice onto the cartridge (2drops) like the instructions say. i did get vapor from this one, but certainly not anything i can taste, and i can barely feel it in my throat. does not taste anything like nicotine. i tried vaping harder but to no avail.

both of the atomizer sections on the e-cigs seemed to get warm, is this normal?

thanks in advance for any advice.

You didn't mention blowing out the atty before you started. There is a primer liquid in all new attys that needs to be blown out of it before you start dripping your e-liquid. Just take off the atty and blow (either through the thread end or the open end) it out into a paper towel or napkin. Once you can't see anymore liquid coming out, put 2-3 drops on the bridge.

2 drops in an empty cartridge isn't enough (I'm assuming it isn't prefilled). Most will hold around 10. To fill it, you need to take the filler out w/ a paper clip or tweezers. Then fill the cartridge about 1/2-3/4 to the top with liquid. Replace the filler and add another few drops until the filler looks slushy (not pooling with liquid).

If you get a gurgling sound with little flavor/vapor, then you may have flooded the atty. Just take it off and blow it out. A dry, burnt taste usually indicates the atty is too dry. Add liquid.

You may also want to watch MistressNomads "I made videos for newbies..." videos in the stickies. Visual aid is always better. I hope this helps and happy vaping.

thank you for your help. yes, i did watch the videos after i posted this, i guess i should have watched them first. i have gotten one to work, and i'm pretty sure i'm going to like this, lol. the other one does sound gurgly so i will blow it out as you have mentioned.

i did start with the pre-filled cartridges, the instructions said to add a couple of drops to the cartridge and to the atomizer.

it looks like i have to go by trial and error, that and read on this board.

all in all, i'm liking it.

thanks to all of you for being so welcoming. the more i read on here the less confused i feel about this whole deal. i'm still familiarizing myself with everything.

one question; i charged up all of my batteries again, i thought maybe i was getting a weak vapor because of weak batteries. one of the e-cigs is working great; good throat effect, good vapor, etc. the other one gives a good amount of vapor but i don't really notice it, doesn't feel like anything. on both of them i am using prefilled cartridges topped off with e-juice on the cartridge and the atomizer. why is one good and the other not so much?

more than one question; do i continue to put e-juice on both the atomizer and the cartridge? also, how do i know when the pre-filled cartridge is no good anymore? can i just continue to top it off?

i have one more atomizer/battery set, i am going to use an empty cartridge on this and try some of the flavored e-juice. the other two i am using something called basic, tobacco #3.

should i try using a diffferent kind of e-juice on the one that's not working so well? i have blown out the atomizer, dripped juice on it, dripped juice on the cartridge. i don't know what else to try.

is it normal for a bit of the liquid to get in my mouth? not alot, just a speck here or there. doesn't taste very good.

thanks for your patience and your advice. it's well appreciated.

Do you know what type of juice came in your carts/juice you are topping off with? Juices that are PG will have a heavier throat hit usually but lighter vapor. VG juices will produce clouds of vapor, but usually pack less of a throat hit punch. I like to get juices with a mix of both PG and VG to get the best of both worlds.

A well charged battery is always a good thing, could be one of the attys just need a bit longer to
break it in. Could be slightly flodded, try blowing it out again, won't hurt it.

When the vapor lessens and the flavor changes it's time to top off the cart, most of the drops on the
cart and one on the atty should work.

A new flavor in an empty cart would be fine, pre-filled cart is my least favorite flavor, buts that's me.

Bit of liquid in your mouth is not unusual, but could indicate a few too many drops in the cart,
or adrop that justgt into the airway.

Well you're lucky, when I started reading here the more I read the more confused I was :)

Welcome on ECF and do know that it's possible one of your atomizer has a problem and there's nothing to do with it, make sure you have plenty of them, they do die at one point or another, I never really used atomizers tho, I'm just quoting people from other threads.

While these forums can be super helpful (and addictive as well), I learned most of what I know through first hand experience. Don't worry too much about breaking anything or messing anything up, since it's actually much harder to do than some people will lead you to believe. Also, try to search Google for other sites (blogs, info sites, etc) that may be able to give you pointers.

One such example is our site: eCigology - The Science of E-Cigs, but there are hundreds of sites out there that can help you out, without seeming to overwhelming.
