went to the doctor's today for the first time since quitting smoking three and a half months ago. i was shocked at the results....

my blood pressure was 117/74 and my pulse was 76.

I smoked for 20 years. I cant remember the last time my blood pressure was so low and my pulse was so low. I have watched my blood pressure climb to 135/89 and pulse up to 83.

And this is without a lick of any exercise! WOOHOO!! This vaping works. Now I have proof.

Great news is right! I have struggled with blood pressure myself (due in part to some of the medications I'm on) and am working on cutting out the last one or two analogs per day. Good to hear you've found those results... gives me hope that once I quit completely maybe my BP will drop some too. Of course, everyone's different, but here's to optimism!

Awesome to hear!!! I'm 32, and at my last gyno appt, she asked if I was excited (to escape the house child-free) because my blood pressure was up there. I wasn't "excited" but I didn't tell her that. I'm overweight, but not obese - so it's kinda sad when your gyno says you should start exercising. :( Really hoping that quitting that p-a-d habit will aide in bringing down my BP! I'm also using the Incline Trainer (treadmill that does angles) 3-4 times a week.

Fingers crossed for me, and CONGRATS FOR YOU!!!

Fantastic news Noodoggy, Don't forget the exercise tho. Start with a ten pound potato sack and lift it five times. Then on day two put in one potato. (aka the Maxine exercise program).

Start simple...i like that lol
Thanks for all the congrats! I was really surprised how much it went down! I was expecting maybe a little bit drop but not much, due to it only being a couple of months and no exercising for me. It was a good visit, b/c I have been struggling with a sinus infection that I got when I returned to smoking after my first pv died. I started vaping again about 8 days after taking antibiotics, and I dont think I would have been able to even function if I hadnt started vaping. Worst sinus infection I ever had. Still struggling to shake it, but on another round of antibiotics and some cortisone nasal spray to take down the nasal inflammation (the root cause of why I cant get rid of the infection -- all blocked in with no way out). Today after almost 24 hrs of using the spray...i now have some breathability through my left nostril! woohoo! Now I can look forward to actually truly enjoying my vaping experience by actually smelling it! LOL Thanks again for the 'grats and best of luck to yall with your vaping and health!! May your vaping be long lasting!

Congrats...
I just returned myself all was good and my BP was lower too (gained 8lbs over 6 months). I told my doc I was vaping and prepared for the lecture, something similar to her smoking ones. But her response was "do you use the pre filled of buy the liquid"? and what MG was I using. Woot, she knew all about e cig. She was impressed I moved from 24 to 18 mg in 3 months
and have 16 and 12 on hand.
Hell I no longer have all the migraines I had. I have had one that needed intervention....
After 20 years of smoking I could not be happier or heather....

How is it possible that so many vapers are reporting lowered blood pressure, despite getting nicotine from vaping, and nicotine being a stimulant and a vaso-constrictor?

Can it be that the ill heart and vascular system symptoms related to smoking are not a result of the nicotine itself, as expected?

What aspect of smoking is causing the heart and vascular health problems, and not just the respiratory problems and cancer that come from inhaling soot and carcinogens?

I would not have expected decreases in blood pressure and heart rate as a result of switching to vaping. It's good news, but seems counter-intuitive.

I wish more good research would be done, specifically on this subject.

I think BP goes down because even though 18mg is my norm I vape less then I smoked thusly less nic. But seeing a drop now the other toxins may contribute.

I will note smoking was killing the nerves in my foot. Making it feel as if it was "falling asleep" even standing. (the scare that made me quit) Something to do with the toxins striping away a coating that protects them. A coating that my doc finds now I vape can be replaced supplementing B6 in my diet and with pills...

Outstanding! My migraines magically disappeared once I started vaping, too - I was stunned. A real life-changer.
