Not tasting the flavor

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if my atty just needs cleaning out (very likely). I am getting good vapor from my 510 regardless of which juice I'm using, but I'm not tasting very much flavor. This is regardless of whether I'm using a new cart and new juice or old carts with old juice. they are all VG mixes, which I know is a smoother throat hit and milder taste, but I should be tasting *something*, instead I am only getting a moutful of completely tasteless vapor.

Anyone know what this might be a symptom of?

It may be badly made juice. Is it from a vendor you've known and tasted before? There's also a phenomenon where our taste buds seem to go kaput every now and then. Some advocate a blast of menthol or cinnamon or something equally potent for a couple days to sort-of reset them, others just patiently vaping through it. It's usually temporary.

If you truly are tasting literally nothing but the vapor, and you've shaken it to make sure the flavor is well mixed, you could try contacting the supplier, although with juices this usually doesn't help a lot since flavor is so subjective to begin with. While unusual, most of the vendors are only human, and I suppose it's possible they forgot to put the flavoring in your juice.

If you're new at vaping and getting off the analogs, your sense of taste can change a bit before it really starts to improve. In the meantime, you could try drinking lemonade or green tea.. something that cleanses the palate.

It could be your atty, but you usually know when it needs cleaning - it tastes nasty :p

I found so many juices that so many in ECF love, that I find quite tasteless. Waffle is one of those. Although Waffle is growing on me, because a lot of times, I do not want full and sweet flavor as it can get a little old real fast. My waffle that I found tastless, has just the right amount of almost nutty flavor with one of the best TH of any of my juices.

I have found 2 juices so far that have full sweet flavor. Geoff's blend and Cherry Cola both from Tasty Vapor. (if you like added sweet, order it that way)

Another full flavor that just came in the mail yesterday is Wyatt Earp, if you are looking for a strong, not sweet tobacco like vape.

Another that was full flavor, that my tastebuds protested was Mercado from Johnson Creek. Very Cigar and Clove like. I just traded it in the Pay it forward thread.

I think another you should try is Atomic Cinnacide, although I have not tried it, on this forum it is constantly mentioned.

I have also heard of a couple of other good cinnamon ones. Vapor Bomb and Mad Juices I believe.

Also, you can call one of the above mentioned suppliers and talk to someone live. Many of their cell phone numbers can be found here, and tell them your situation and they will help.

I have the issue of flavorless vaping intermittingly. When I first started vaping I couldn't really taste anything I vaped. My taste buds finally kicked in but I still have days where even my favorites I can barely taste. I have had all kinds of suggestions but nothing seems to work. My favorite vape is BreezEsmoke vanilla - if I can taste it Monday but not taste it Tuesday then I assume it is me. When those days hit I go for a menthol type so I can at least taste that coolness and wait for it to pass. It is annoying.

Well, since you're new, there's a variety of things to consider.

1. Your tastebuds need more time to regenerate. And trust me, they will. A lot of people don't taste much at first. I didn't. I started off making DIY juice from the start, and I had to add twice as much flavoring as I do now to taste anything. The pre-made juice I got seemed almost tasteless to me - now it tastes quite strong to me.

2. It made be the VG. VG really washes out flavor for me. I go with 90% PG juices for this reason.

3. It may help to try direct dripping. I know that for me, using carts cuts into the flavor a bit. In fact, I prefer both cartomizers and dripping to using carts, as far as flavor.

4. Maybe your atty does need cleaning. Try dropping it in isopropyl alcohol for a few minutes, then picking it up, threads down, and letting alcohol drain out the bottom a few times. Set it to dry over-night in a well-ventilated area.

5. It might be your mouth getting dried out. Try brushing and rinsing, and scraping your tongue. Also drink lots of water.

A lot to consider, I know. It's a process of elimination. Easy stuff first, more time consuming stuff last.

Good luck!

All the above suggestions are great - they just didn't work for me.

Some of us just don't have the sense of taste with e-liquid that others do. It just IS like that. Except for a couple of tobacco flavors and Cinnabomb, I don't taste any of them. I don't have the same problem with food. I taste that just fine.

I have about 30 little bottles, flavors everyone has RAVED over, all kinds of different nic strengths, all kinds of different PG/VG combinations - very little to NO flavor even after 3 months. Gourmet Vapor offers double and triple flavoring, $1.00 and $2.00 extra. Their prices are very reasonable even with the extra cost for the extra flavor. I've ordered several small bottles with triple flavoring to give this a try. I'm hoping this will do the trick. If not, I'll have to go to DIY.
