Is this going to be restored soon? I'd rather use the Google search (I hate the other search, LOL).

Thanx!

The techs are working on it.

Here is a good tip another user posted...

@brian69

You may be familiar with this, but I'll post the suggestion anyway: :)

In Google, try the following:
Code:
site:www.e-cigarette-forum.com [COLOR="darkred"]google search[/COLOR]

Replace "google search" with whatever you want to search for. When you type in "site:www.e-cigarette-forum.com", it will tell Google to search this forum and nothing else.

For anyone using Google Chrome (can probably retrofit this to other browsers, but I've never tried) you can do this. It makes searching ecf with Google a snap.

1. In Chrome, click the wrench in the upper right hand corner.
2. Click Preferences
3. Click the button that says "manage search engines"
4. Scroll to the very bottom to the blank row
5. In the first box type ecig
6. In the second box type ec
7. In the third box type this without the quotes:

8. Now you can go up to the address bar in Chrome type ec, hit tab, and type your search, then hit enter. Instant search results!

If a site has a search where the term is passed via the url, you can use the site's specific search. Here are a few I use:

My Vapor Store: "http://www.myvaporstore.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=%s"
HealthCabin: "http://www.healthcabin.net/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=%s&x=0&y=0"
Amazon: "http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_22?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=%s&x=0&y=0&sprefix=%s"
Ebay: "http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=%s&_sacat=See-All-Categories"

Of course, some sites do not craft their searches this way (hint hint Totally Wicked!) so you are limited to the sites search page, or the Google Site method which doesn't really get what you're after when shopping.
