I understand that quitting analogs usually means getting a better sense of taste and smell back, but I wasn't prepared for a week long stint of tasting nothing but 'sweet' in all of my myriad of juice flavors. Even the tobacco's that I loved the first week - and no hint of sweetness in them at the time - ended up tasting like pure sugar to me. Ugh!

This taste thing started up about a week and a half after quitting analogs. It's now eased up and I can taste the actual flavors without any hint of sweetness (well, except for the ones that are supposed to be sweet) and I can differentiate between flavors again.

I was starting to think vaping was going to be a short-lived experience for me. All is well now though. The day I loaded up my favorite tobacco flavor and actually tasted it again was pure BLISS and I see no quick end to my vaping future. Whew! I was afraid I'd have to pick up analogs again.

So, I'm just wondering...has anyone else experienced this post-analog 'everything is sweet and tasteless' period?

I hope this helps and you don't go back to stinkies. However, your buds will constantly change from week to week for about a month before it dies down.

Stinkies! LOL

It's not that I mind sweet flavors, it was just that every juice I had, regardless of whether it was supposed to be sweet or not, just tasted sweet and flavorless, as if I was vaping liquid sugar. All's good now. I was just curious if this was common. I sure hope the next bud-change wont be the same. It was rather infuriating!

@ Levitas - vaping a lesser priority juice is an excellent idea. I'll keep that one in mind. Thx.

I dunno about if everything was 'sweet' but I've had a small run with all of my juices being relatively tasteless. I actually prefer sweet flavors, :D. During those times though, I would vape menthol and lesser priority juices.

I think we all have been through the "no tasting anything" period. Nature of the beast I call it. I hated that week. Only thing I could taste was atomic cinnacide.

It seemed like my buds were changing every few days or so. One juice was good for a few days and then tasted bad. Now I love all of it from sweet to non-sweet, tobacco, fruits, and deserts.

Juices tend to change some as they react with air and light. Flavors may be different a week after first trying. That might be part of what happened. But man do your taste buds get a shock for a month! I can't tell you how great my first mac and cheese tasted a couple weeks after I started vaping! Just awesome. You're in for a treat in another week or two. Food is so good.

I'm going through this today, Levi. Not much fun.

For me it lasted longer than a week, and it has come back several times. I've been off analogs for almost 7 months now and the taste loss or taste bending thing still returns occasionally. However it is far between now and usually only lasts a few hours. Don't have any idea what cause that lack of taste or change of taste thing to kick in, but it does. Stick with it. The good taste days are soooo worth it.

I didn't go through the everything sweet stage, but did have a time when the flavors didn't come through. Along with taste comes smell. I used to laugh at the dog farting and just run him off the sofa, but now I have to get up and move and it isn't so funny. My non-smoking wife thinks it's hilarous however. Now I'm smelling what she's had to put up with all these years. There are a lot more bad smells in the world then there used to be, but it's all worth getting off analogs. I still join my analog buddies outside, but have to stand upwind because of the smell.

I haven't gone through a spell of everything being sweet but I have gone through the tasteless part. Now I am going through and have been for weeks that nothing I vape I like except for one juice. I even make mixes and at first they are good but before I can get through a 3ml bottle I don't like the mix. I have spent around $150 in juices and only like one!!!! OMG!!! I have several I am wanting to trade and also plan to make another order because I am having trouble getting the level of mgs I need to keep me completely off the stinkies. I will smoke around 10 a day and have been since I begun vaping in Feb. I am so upset with myself but I will not stop trying to quit analogs no matter what. I love vaping and I will find my niche somwhow.

Well I went through the 'sweet-week' and hated every minute of it. Got through that and started enjoying flavors again.. It was a short-lived reprieve however, because now I'm back on the taste roller coaster. Vaping is just blah, no flavors coming through at all now, not even that plain sweet taste from the first go-round. I found it curious that the taste of food hadn't changed for me at all- It seemed everything but vaping was just as flavorful as it should be. But boy was I wrong! I haven't ventured into a bar in the last month, for fear I'd end up smoking again if I put myself in that situation too soon. I finally went out for a few drinks last night and I had the biggest let down ever! Beer tastes horrible now! WTH?? So, food is still good, but vaping and beer suck! Tell me this can't last...I wanted to quit smoking, not quit drinking!
