notification settings not updating 11-2

I've gone into my settings several times to stop getting notified about every post in threads - once a day would be fine. That didn't work. Then I tried to just have the notifications appear in my control panel - again, fail. My inbox overfloweth .. ahhhhhh

Changing your settings will only change the setting for new subscriptions. To change existing subscriptions you will need to change each one separately in your control panel. If the thread has not been recently replied to, you'll have to click view all subscriptions to bring it up so you can change the subscription method.

Or you can unsubscribe from the thread and resubscribe using a different option if you are in the thread and don't feel like going to your control panel.
