Hmmm, this is working less than steller for me.

Tried an atty with this method, white vinegar and baking soda. Had a really hard time getting both ingredients in there without making a huge mess, what kind of tools are you guys using for this?

Anyway, the powder started fizzing as soon as the vinegar hit it so I tried to plug it with my thumb, shook it out then rinsed. After it dried all I could taste was vinegar. Or baking soda. Was horrible.

So I tried it again, after double checking this post to make sure I have the right ingredients; yep, baking soda and white vinegar. Same thing. Even rinsed it out about 16 times just to make sure.
Tried a dry burn on my fourth (or fifth?) attempt, doesn't matter. Ick.

Every juice I have is undermined by that awful vinegar taste.

What am I missing here?

I don't know that your missing anything, but I've not experienced that problem. I do my atty's this way all the time and some a couple times a week without problem. They seem to be fresh and clean. You might try using some lemon concentrate with the vinegar. I agree, it is a bit messy, but I do it right over the sink and it makes it pretty easy to clean up. I haven't found a way that does as nice a job as this, although I have not tried the ultrasonic method.
Just had a thought, you might try adding excess baking soda instead of excess vinegar, the bicarbonate will neutralize the vinegar, then just rinse out the baking soda.

Hey roll:2cool: I just kept adding white vinegar til it stopped fizzing. You gotta be quick with the thumb over the atty:laugh: Try doing the baking soda then vinegar a couple of times, rinse wel and blow out the excess water and let them dry overnite:vapor:

Yea maybe I did not do it enough times. Will give that a shot. I have been using 90% Iso alcohol and that leaves a bit of a lingering taste also but it goes away fairly quickly.

For all those with an eGo T atty or similar atty (Bauway iTank and so on) What I did was place my baking soda in the atty inside the Tank side of the atty, I also put some on my thumb then seal that end with that thumb. With the battery end up, pour your vinegar through the tiny hole so the vinegar goes down that small hole to your thumb..... move your head back, really, the reaction happening will rocket back through the hole... and hit you in the face if you haven't moved back already:blink:

Shake the atty with vinegar in the bottom to react with the baking soda that is probably still clinging along the atty wall.

This worked well for my ego attys. Only once did I have the lingering vinegar taste (realized I used more vinegar then I should have, either use a little less vinegar or as others have said, add lemon juice to neutralize the vinegar

EDIT: To achieve what I mention above, it is best to use a syringe to deliver the vinegar deep into the tiny hole. I forgot to mention that

I'll have to give this a try....I have used the diet coke for cleaning my tank attys and it works ok, but need something better....after I rinse the atty out good, I dry it standing cart side down on a 60 watt light bulb.....after 5 minutes or so it is dry as can be and ready to vape away.....thanks for the baking soda tip..... 80)
