November 2012 Selection List

we will get very little traffic in the lounge and pretty much all who stop by will have been invited. but, as catt said, that is no guarantee they really want to be put on our list. we have had people before who said ''thanks, but no thanks''

from now on i will make it clear in my pms that when stopping by pvt to say hello to also let us know at the same time if they are interested in joining the list ......................

i think that sometimes people don't quite get it even when we tell them. if they haven't seen a turning party they have no idea what to expect. or I'm not telling them quite right. the PM i sent to Sandy specifically said that when she stopped by the thread she would be asked about a theme I guess maybe i'll stop saying "stop by the thread and say hi" and start saying "stop by the thread to tell us that you want to participate" (i also told her to read the first post in the thread)

I've thought about that too . When I sent L7D4N and invite today, I went back and found the countdown to sporty's turning and included a link to that page in the PM to Dan.



Actually it was my PM to pita asking about a theme/WT/AP where I referenced sporty's countdown:

"There are two choices for celebrating becoming an ECF Veteran on the Pre Veteran Thread, let me know which you would like:

1) Welcome Thread only - I'll start a Welcome Thread for you in the Veteran's forum (you can't see this forum until you become a Veteran) and other ECF Veterans will post congrats & welcomes in the thread for you to see when you do become a veteran. If you would like to choose a theme, pictures relating to that theme will be posted in the Welcome Thread as well.

A theme can be anything that you like - a hobby, pets, place(s), movie, famous person, anything. Additional ideas are at the bottom of this page - http://pvt.freehostingcloud.com/PVT_List.html


2) Welcome Thread & Avatar Party - With the Avatar Party, the regulars on the Pre Veteran Thread will change their avatars to reflect your chosen theme. We would like for you to be on the thread, at least just before you turn Veteran (~20-20 minutes before) so we can count down to your turning. Your title below your avatar will change at 4:25pm EDT on Oct 6. After you become a Veteran everyone on the thread will post fireworks in celebration .

Well... it wasn't there before......(I checked before I put it in the 'advanced add-ons'). That was a change! Sheesh! Besides...my local copy is only the next couple weeks, updated regularly.

Besides...this is September.... Aren't we showing Sept and Oct? Sigh. OK so what goes into "Advanced Add Ons"?

probably not much anymore - catt added november when thren stopped by a couple of days ago - our list without it looked pitiful at that point ....

sandy will stay in advanced add-on till we know for sure she wants to participate

Sandy came by prevets specifically to let us know that she wanted to participate. In her PM she said it was prety awesome, and asked if all she had to do was post. i told her she had to come by the thread, say "hi", select a theme and invited her to come and play any time between now and then.

i'm going to use text more similar to Catt's invitations in the future..

(no response at all from funnyfarm yet, which is a little surprising cause we chatted in TWR every morning for awhile. oh well)
