Now I am confused.. help !!

Okay here it is... 43 years old, been smoking for 25. close to 2 strong packs a day, completely addicted, tried it all and did not work. Love smoking, now have a cronic cough and getting worried that this stuff is going to kill me.

I read this forum and I see a lot of abbreviations such as 501, 901, mod, etc etc etc...

I see starter kits for sale, they are illegal I understand in canada.

Cartridges ? liquids ? liquid mix ? flavor ? 12mg ? 24 mg ? WTF ?

Can someone explain to me exactly what it is I need to replace analog cigarettes and can be problem free, satisfy the needs of a heavy smoker ??? I read somewhere that the battery supplied are crap and you need to get a mod ? huh ?

I don't want to order 200$ worth of stuff to find out I don't have the right thing ....or plainly hate it because I have the wrong equipment,liquid or cartridge... Also, if I am going to stop using analog, I can't run out of the stuff for 10 days while waiting for shipping right ?

It's a lot of information to absorb, but you have to start somewhere, and given the chronic cough and need to get off analogs - it might be worth the time and effort.

While it is true that battery life on starter kits isn't the best - as long as you have a charger and two batteries you're really not going to go without having an operational ecigarette. The only thing is that you'll have to recharge them sooner than some other solution. That solution could be longer life batteries - 'mega batteries' that are rated longer than the regular kit batteries, or 'mods' - devices that are modified in order to use even longer life batteries and ones that aren't proprietary - that you can get anywhere and for less cost than ecig batts or megas.

The 510, 901, 801, KR808D-1, 401, 4081 etc. are pretty much types of ecigs mainly designating the type of atomizer used (KR808D-1 being a battery type). And the atomizer is important depending on what you're looking for. There is not one atomizer that suits all factors - vapor, throat hit, flavor. And the difference between them is a much disputed driven sometimes by subjective preferences. The objective aspect is ohm rating for resistance - which determines how hot the coil gets. The 510 is rated in the warmer category meaning it gets very good vapor and enhances some tastes (stronger flavors - tobacco, coffee) and subdues others (fruits). The 901 and 801 are cooler vapes and some flavors, imo, fruits, berries, vanilla, etc. do better with those attys. The 401 has good battery life but, in my experience doesn't have the vapor of the 510, 801, 901. The 4081 is even less vapor but some say more flavor. The KR808D-1 uses cartomizers where the cartridge and atomizer is one unit.
