I have been switched from analogs for a year now. I decided it's time to do something I always wanted to do - work out and strength train to slim down, gain muscle and tone and shape my body. Not to mention I'm eating better, less processed foods more fruits and veggies.

I'm on a budget, live in a small condo. I got a LifelineUSA Portable Gym ( Great product to strength train instead of using free weights), a Perfect brand Pull Up bar and (don't laugh) an old peoples walker to use for 'dips'. Also a tub of Creatine High Performance Muscle and Strength Fuel by Body Fortress. All together this is about 85 bucks worth of strength training equiptment.

I have been at it a week now and I feel great and am starting to gain muscle mass and slim down my fat belly.

The thing is I would have never made myself do this as a smoker. I think a lot of people want to exercise more but they don't see the point in doing it while they are smoking. Smokers don't have as much energy, they can't breathe as well, don't even think about running. It would feel like one was spinning his wheels and killing himself to do it.

After a year smoke free, I felt my lungs and body was ready to give it a shot. vaping doesn't seem to hurt my efforts at all. I'm 44 and smoked for 22 years.

I wonder, what things are you now able to do as a non smoker that you would not do as a smoker?

Thanks for the reply Wolf308.

You ran/jogged while you smoked or started after switching to e-cigs?

I work out one day on and one day off. Today I started to jog because I thought it would be a good thing to do on my off days. ( and jump rope) I set a goal which is a store about 5 blocks away. I didn't make it very far and I had to rest. At the half way point my feet were killing me so I decided to make this point my goal until my legs and feet felt stronger. I had rested 3 times to get to that spot. On the return trip I had to rest 3 more times. Now, I have a pain in my ..../leg in a place I didn't know I had muscle.

I too was very tired but I have run before and know it will build back up slo0wly. I never did get around to jumping rope. The feet couldn't handle it. I'll try again Saturday.

I started running way before I switched. I started running last summer, stopped during the winter because I get ear infections in the cold weather for some reason. I spent the winter running in the water exclusively. But I was also biking and swimming. I only switched over to e-cigs about two months ago, myself. My next attempt is to run trails through the woods instead of running paths. Running in the pool probably helped me a lot, it builds stamina and leg strength.

Well...allways been pretty active...lots of exercise and smoking like a chimney . Somehow after ditching the analogs and starting to vape (quite a bit :)) I have just been playing with my e-cigs...and training my vape-arm:laugh:
Looking forward to experiencing the increased energi level people talk about.....5 weeks in, and still dragging my feet
It does make a lot more sence though...to improve your fitness, and not try to kill yourself at the same time.....I just have some difficoulty adjusting to this new pro-life existence....contemplating sky-diving......

I might as well post this.. but over the past two years I've dedicated myself to pure weight loss and muscle mass.. my goal? this isn't a joke.. but I want to dead lift 500 pounds.. or a dead lift a VW bug.. yeah.. well.. I wasn't kidding.. once this is accomplished, a video will be made for your guys enjoyment.. that is unless I end up blowing out my lower end.. :p
