The numbers on plastic items in a triangle are for recycling purposes. Each number tells exactly what the bottle is made of.

Thanks for the response. I have hundreds of these plastic bottles from 5ml - 100ml. I have been diy'ing almost a year now, and just noticed that I have all of these different numbers on the bottom. I am not sure if these are recycling codes, as some even have a #8. I have attached pictures of 2 that are imprinted #1 & #3 these were purchased as "LDPE" so I am not sure if the ones that are not marked 2, 4, or 5 are safe to use?
