Hey there! New to this site, so introductions are in order.

I started smoking about 20 years ago in college. Started with cigarettes, then I was an avid pipe smoker for awhile, then switched back to cigarettes for the quick fix. I was up to a pack a day when I started vaping about six months ago. I started out with Premium ecigs, now I've moved on to an eGo T. Much better vaping experience! vaping is starting to become somewhat of a hobby for me and I'm starting to get into the gear aspect of it but still quite new to it all. My newest toy is a 608B ePipe with an F1 tankomizer. It's nice to be smoking a pipe again!

My favorite eLiquid flavors are Caramel, Coffee and Chocolate. Menthol is ok once in awhile for a change of pace. I'm trying to branch out, though. I'm ready to try some of the more fruity flavors, something refreshing anyway. I'd like to try Cinnamon and / or Clove but I've read some warnings about Cinnamon on this site and I've wondered if the same could be said about Clove.

What I'd really like is something that tastes like Rattray’s Red Rapparee. Since taste is subjective, let me describe the sort of taste I'm looking for: smooth, full bodied, mellow, toasty caramel with hints of coffee and either figs, cherry, apple, apricot or peach (or... all of the above!). That's not exactly Rattray’s Red Rapparee, but sort of my ideal pipe tobacco. No real strong throat hit but a little bite is nice. I like to vape 24ml of nicotine and yes, I know that more nic means more throat hit. I'm wondering if that can be toned down a bit in any way? I'm sure the PG / VG ratio also has something to do with it but I've heard that one or the other gunks up your atomizer.

So, I'm ready to learn and I'll be surfing the forums. Hope to see you there!

Vape on!

Hi SteamPhunk, Welcome to the ECF:) That's one cool looking pipe. I see DIY liquid in your future I think. You seem to know just what you want and like in a liquid. Who better to mix it than yourself? Yeah you can up your VG to tone down the TH and I have been adding some distilled water to my VG to thin it down just a bit for better wicking. Good luck on your vaping journey and I hope to see you around.

What a warm welcome! Dana A, Uno mas and SilentScreams: thanks so much!

So... Analog... I'm guessing that refers to tobacco products? Is that "analog" as in analogous or analog as in not digital? 8^))

Yup, I wanna make me some Liquid! I sense that it would be a lot of fun. I like a good wine too... Hmm... wine flavored eLiquid? That would be interesting...

Remember that kid that was always mixing all the flavors at the soda fountain... A little CocaCola, a little Mountain Dew... (we used to call them "suicides"... not so PC now I guess...) Yup. That was me... 8^)

I LOVE my ePipe! My eGo is good for on the go (and holds a lot more liquid...) but there's nothing like the feel of a good pipe in your hand! I'd love to get a nice churchwarden in an ePipe someday... must be the hobbit in me!

If you find that link, please send it my way! Thanks so much, that would be really helpful!

Thanks again y'all!

Woohoo!

Welcome to the ECF and the wonderful world of Vaping SteamPhunk. Ya if you decide to dabble into DIY liquids you can eventually get them just the way you want. You will find juices with more PG will give more throat hit, VG will give better vapor production. Most people usually settle on a mix of about 70PG/30VG or somewhere in there and some even go 50/50. Alot of your lower ohm atty's, carto's and tanks will give you a warmer vape and better vapor production. I am loving variable voltage devices like the eGo Twists and your bigger batt mods like my Vamo. That way you can adjust your units power in comparison to your devices ohms in search for the real "Sweet Spot" which also differs on your liquid. Some liquids taste better or worse at different voltages and some taste burnt at different levels so it is all about trial and error. Anyway have fun finding some new flavors. I would suggest some sample packs from some of the vendors. That way if you don't like the liquid you don't end up with a great big bottle of the stuff. Anyway, Good Luck!!
