Nutmeg?

As a long time cook/baker I can't imagine doing custard or most pies or breads without a little bit of nutmeg. But so far I haven't seen a nutmeg flavoring. I've ordered cinnamon and cardamom but can't seem to find nutmeg. Can anybody help me out?

I assume that if I have to I could extract some into pg.

Be careful. Look up the cautions a lot post about oil. They say vaping oil is dangerous. Granted there's thousands of oils in cigarettes so it's not like it's going to cause immediate death. But still, be careful and educate yourself on the use of oils first if you haven't already

I get a nutmeg note in my...edited, it's Capella(noted while reorganizing diy supplies) eggnog, I haven't used it yet, but my nose is picking it up in sniff test, I plan on mixing with a custard base to see what turns out


I also ordered some pumpkin spice flavoring, for fall blends...hoping there's some nutmeg in that flavor too, guess I'll have to wait and see

Pumpkin spice= clove, very predominant.

It might be faster to extract using alcohol then combine with your pg and gently heat to evaporate the alcohol off. Either way it will take some time, weeks with pg maybe a week with alcohol.

Thanks, everyone, for your responses. I did go ahead and order the LorAnn nutmeg, but since it only came in the 1 oz size I will have a lifetime (or, considering my age a more than lifetime) supply, since it is only an accent flavor.

Let us know how it tastes, I finally tried the Capellas, I really do like the smell, but I'll have to try some other recipes with it ...a little bit of an odd flavor alone, tingles my tongue. This one has potential, but will be more of a challenge, not sure if I like that back note in it either, like in the v2 custard has, can't smell it but can taste it
