My brass one looks the same. Not as bad but still the same. I noticed it when I received it yesterday. It doesn't appear to be getting worse yet.

He's talking about a polishing wheel. Not everyone has one. Probably more don't than do.

mine has he same, possible threads are touching it? Hmm, not a biggie and im sure if you have a buffer can work it off.

If it really bothers you, take the tube to a machine shop and get them to take a couple of thou off the OD of the tube. It's just the threads rubbing on the tube when you screw it in and out. I got my GG today and it already looks like that and I couldn't care less. It's a tool to do a job. A beautiful, well crafted tool that I'm highly impressed with, but just a tool.

I can't believe how folks are dismissing the lack of QC so enthusiastically. To answer OP's question the answer is no it is not normal, and shouldn't be happening.

Agree as long as it works and it does what it say's on the tin, mine has been dropped several times and was damaged in a suitcase rubbing against charging plug but still looks beautiful and works like a charm.
I haven't seen this on mine. I was thinking though if I had bought this at Walmart and had this come up would I take it back for a refund? After giving it a lot of thought I would have to say no if it was working properly. Imeo is just such a perfectionist that when something slips by his quality control it is upsetting to everyone.

Guys, I made the telescope a little fatter so it can be more durable. its 0,4mm fatter than the previous one. Also if it gets bend it cant broke its own threads because the body of the telescope will touch the threads of the big engraving piece. It was a security update. Mine also has the same "thread marks". To speak the truth I liked it the way it looks and I thought that you would like it too.

IMHO, it is poor workmanship. I had a GG in my line of sight. In humble honesty I do not like what has been happening with the GG line since I started vaping. I am happy you have a good solid client base, but I am remiss that I cannot include myself amongst them.
Don't let a few early production problems put you off you have to remember Imeo is continually updating unit, if you want perfection go for GGts with brass centre section

Very valid point. If and when it is evidenced that we have moved from prototyping into full fledge production of quality products, I'll reconsider the GGTS.
I have made recalls of units that had problems but other people still sells them. I make many gifts to my customers and friends. I make the best PV for sure and I make discounts to people that are disable. In the most cases I send GG almost for free to those people but I dont say anything to anyone. I also allow people that want to copy the design to buy from me. I am more than helpful man, I eat all my time on forum and on lathe trying to satisfy all of you. To proove you ( and to remind to all my friends here) what I can do for my customers, I will make a proposition to all of my friends and to you too Switch even if you are not a GG user yet.
I will send a new brass tube to anyone who has a problem with this "poor workmanship" as you called it at the cost of 10 euros shipped!!!
