By any chance is there such a thing as a tank /carto setup that doesn’t use O-rings on the caps?

I have had major trouble with the O-rings pinching and burning on my tank. I’ve had this set up for less than a month and already I’ve had to remove and replaced the rings many times and even had to order a new glass tank.

I use the multi-purpose device to replace cartos. I’ve watched the videos that are available and still I struggle to get this to work as it should.

I’ve never seen anyone post about problems with O-rings on tank caps so I’m really at a loss to understand why it’s been such a hassle for me only. Everyone else seems to love using tanks and I want too as well.
Before I have to abandon tanks/cartos altogether and just use my trusty Vivi Nova from now on I wanted to see if there’s an O-ringless tank option.

I am by no means an expert, but I favor the pyrex type tanks made by vendors like Phiniac and Ibtanked. I use the Phiniacs a lot (have 3), and generally have minimal to no issues with the top o-rings. It sounds like you're already using a tank tool, but if you haven't tried the Slap Yo' Mama tool from bigdaddyvapor.com you should try it out. It keeps my o-rings in pretty much pristine condition. I have the delrin one, but it also comes in stainless. I used another vendor's tool before and while it was better than nothing, it still chewed up my o-rings a bit.

Yes, the tanks that use silicone grommets in place of endcaps would be your best bet.

High Desert Vapes High Desert Vapes - Your Vapor Haven make pyrex tanks that utilize grommets. These grommets fit snug enough to hold the tank and carto tight enough to not slip apart or off of your battery device, yet allow the carto to be slid off to be replaced or slid partially to allow tank refilling with relative ease. The below frog tank is one of their tanks. Be sure to inquire what length carto each tank you might purchase uses as it doesn't say on the site to my memory. My frog tank from High Desert uses a 35mm carto (shown below with a 45mm carto).

Valley View Vapes makes the Triple V pyrex tanks. Unless you get the Sidewinder model with the side mounted juice feed hole, these must be filled by placing a blunt needle between the tube and the grommet, as carto's fit too snuggly with these grommets to easily slide out for refilling the tank. I am not normally a fan of these tanks in this configuration because of this factor, but your results may vary. Pyrex Tanks

O-rings burning? Really? From heat? What are YOU vaping on? Seriously what tank, carto's, and battery device are you using?

Are you punching your carto's yourself, or slotting them with a dremel tool by chance?

Which tool device are you using? Describe the issues that you are having using the tank tool that you have.

This IS a rarely reported problem, however, it is more than likely more common than we tend to think considering that most tank users are still not using the better tank tools to protect their o-rings. When users complain of their tanks flood or leaking, we tend to think there is a problem with the cartomizer first. But a defective o-ring can cause flooding of the carto because of an air pressure leak in the tank itself or failing to form a liquid seal between the cartomizer and endcaps.

I also recommend lubricating the cartomizer and tank tool with some e-liquid before inserting into the endcaps.

And burning may have been the wrong way to describe what happens to damage the rings. The edges of my first tank are rough and indented after using it.

Please explain. The edges of what? Of the o-rings or of your tank?

Still very curious if you were punching or slotting your own cartos. Punching carto's can deform the carto into an oval instead of its normally round shape, placing undue wear and tear on an o-ring during insertion even with a tank tool. Slotting carto's can cause sharp metal edges on the carto outer surface, likewise causing trauma to the o-rings, even with a tank tool.

This is the very reason I prefer the laser-drilled holes when purchasing carto replacements for my tanks. No deformity of the carto from self-punching or slotting.
