so i picked up the subtank mini a couple weeks ago and ive been toseed between the rba, or the .5 horizontal rba, then kanger tech came out with a .5 vertical coil. So i picked up one and found it to be nice. Which is where i'm torn. Which one do you all like the best? Also i noticed all are at .6 ohms. Now i expected my builds to be .6 since i am new to building but a .5 coil fresh out of the package running at.6 is a little strange. I understand that mass produced coils can never be bang on, i expect this from aspire since i never had a nautilis mini that was never bang on but i dont know much about kanger tech. I did notice that on the base that theirs a little crack in the 510 connection to the battery. Is this normal or ... So would that affect my range at all? I did take out the new coil and placed it on my mod just to see as is which came up to a .6. So my coil is the suspect. But that crack in the 510 conection is getting me wondering. Any insight and possible fixes would be greatly appreciated. I don't mind the .1 difference so i'm just curious if this is a constant issue or a unique wtf. oh ya i running/using this on a i stick 30w if that plays a role in all of this.

Hey Tomitom!

I haven't tried the VOCCs yet, and truthfully, I'm kinda partial to the 1.2ohm coils. I'll splurge on a 0.5 once in a while. I'm finally getting the hang of the RBA, so I probably will use that more often.

I'm not surprised that the 0.5s are reading as 0.6. I'm guessing that it's "rounding" on the reader of the device. Plus, there's probably some amount of loss, if you will, between the contact and the coil on the device. Mine often read 0.6 as well. I would be very hard-pressed to tell the difference between a 0.5 ohm and a 0.6 ohm coil. Set your power until it tastes right and go.

Is it the Kanger base that has the crack? Personally, I would be very leery of using that base any more. And I suppose it's possible that it's playing with the reading. Continual heating from use could cause the crack to get worse. I'd see if you could get the base replaced.

I have a Subtank Mini and use the RTA deck exclusively. The OCC coil that came with it from the factory lasted less than two days. My 1.2 ohm coils (checked with ohm tester) always register as 1.3 ohm on my iStick 30w. That isn't unusual. As to the crack, I would contact the vendor and see about a replacement.
Totally agree with contactong the vendor, I also use the Rta deck always.

thats exactly what ive been doing fillin r up and runnin. I dont mind the difference at all because i know from experience with my nautlis mini that anyhting in the .1 +- range is ok. So it not like its and big deal i was just curious is all.

What I like the best is having options.

I look forward to various rba deck designs.

i want the new rba head that comes with the sub box mini. the juice holes are like the occ which makes sense. i need to deepen an widen my rba so i can run it past 20 w lol

i think the newer ones are more likely to have leak problem, but better able to handle higher watts.

I have the same setup (Subtank Nano, which uses the same stock coils, and Istick 30), and every single 0.5 coil I've put on it (many) has read 0.6. Not a big deal, it seems to work fine. I've had them get crud in the connection and read 0.7, that becomes an issue. Terrible dry/burnt taste until I clean the connections.
