Please note: Due to USPS regulations, I cannot send the prize package outside of the United States; therefore this contest is only open to those persons with a States-side mailing address. I don't like it, but I have no choice but to comply with the regulations.

Well, now. I hadn't planned on another contest, but I'm feeling good - literally - so I'm passing on the good vibes!

My mother, maternal grandmother, and supposedly my maternal great grandmother all died of breast cancer. I promised my mother when she was dying that I would get screened every year for the dreaded disease. I have kept that promise. I've had many scares, but I've come away unscathed, thus far. In August, I had a dna test done to look for a specific mutation gene that would say specifically whether I would be likely to get breast cancer. It took 2 months, but the results came in yesterday - no mutation gene! My chances are still 1 in 5 vs 1 in 8 to get breast cancer because of the family history, but at least I know I'm not predisposed to the disease.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

October also means Halloween!

So, here is a little contest for you all!

The Spooky Part Is Over Contest!!

All you have to do to enter is:

1. Post a small Halloween picture!

2. AND/OR post a small Breast Cancer Awareness Month picture - a pink ribbon, a picture of a survivor, a picture of a lost loved one, pink, pink, pink... anything that brings us to Breast Cancer Awareness.

3. Each person/ECF account may have up to 5 separate post entries. Please number each post; i.e., #1, #2, etc.

(note: any lewd, offensive, or pornographic photographs/pictures will automatically disqualify the poster from this contest and the pictures will be requested to be removed)

That's it! Nothing more. No essays. No "why I quit smoking and started vaping." Just some small pictures.

This contest is open to EVERYONE with an ECF account with which to post. :)

On Friday, October 26, 2012, I will use random.org to select one post as the winner and I will announce the winner sometime that evening. I will PM the winner requesting their mailing address in order to send them this little prize package in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Halloween:

Bless you, Kia, for this contest and bringing increased awareness to breast cancer!
And, I'm so glad you do not have the mutated gene!

Both my mother and my maternal grandmother died of breast cancer fairly young.
I had a mass with an abnormal biopsy this summer, and underwent bilateral mastectomies in August.
Reconstruction is ongoing...

Again, thank you so much for your thoughtfulness in sponsoring this game - but, please, keep up with your breast monitoring just the same even without an identified gene, OK?
