I was sitting here vaping a way while reading the ECF forums when I took a draw on my volt. I got nothing and noticed the light was blinking.

I'm used to it blinking 5 times when the battery needs to be charged....but it seemed to blink more than that. That was odd.

I took another test draw and counted 10 blinks in total. Took the cartomizer off and gave it a draw with nothing connected. Same behavior, 10 blinks.

Anyone know what's going on? This battery has behaved normally in the past but is less than 2 weeks old. I'm hesitant to put it on the charger not knowing what it means...

That means it needs to be charged. I've never actually counted the number of blinks but I know it's at least 10.

When it only blinks 2 or 3 times, that usually is the cutoff switch (6-7 seconds on small battery and 10-12 on x2). It's a protection feature

Yep, mine blink around 10 times when they need to be charged. It isn't anything unusual.

Which size X2 is giving you trouble? I received 2nd my Manual 900 X2 6/27 and after a week my Battery vape time was 2:17 minutes and the Battery would die, after an exchange, my replacement 900 did the same thing after about one week of use. A third replacement was received, after one week this won't even hold a charge and I'm currently waiting for my RMA to return it. Maybe a bad batch of X2s? I thought I was just having bad luck.

Mine isn't an X2. Just a 78mm auto battery. I did try plugging it in to charge and it looked like it was going okay for a little while; but then the light on it started blinking randomly. Like really fast morse code. I tried to reattach it to the charger thinking maybe it was a connection problem but it kept doing it.

I called SI and they said that was normal behavior. So I said I'd like to complain that none of my other batteries exhibit this "normal" behavior so there must be something wrong with all of them... They're sending me a new battery :D This is the only issue I've had with any SI product so far.

Maybe one of the red or black wires of the sensor is not soldered correctly.
The asic inside the sensor blinks 3 times when it starts up (when the power is fed) and then it goes on standby waiting for activation if there is a problematic connection it would blink like crazy as the connection get's restored and cut back again.

But you can't be sure if you don't see it.
Also when you disconnect the charger it blinks 3 times.
