Odd question about 5v nimh charger

This is an odd question. So I leave my nimh standard charger in the bathroom, and it was not plugged in but fell in the toilet. It was soaked. I am letting it dry out. My question is should I even attempt to plug it in when it is fully dry?

Really, no one knows if this is ok to plug in? It's been almost 24 hours and I want to see if it still works.

I would pack it in rice in a plastic bag for a day or two to be sure.

I just tried it and it seems to be working. I will keep an eye on it.

Right no one knows. It may work or short out or fire up or blow a fuse or do nothing.

the plastic bag was a good suggestion, I would add to it by telling you to add 2 or 3 cups of uncooked rice to help dry it out.
the rice will absorbe any moisture in the unit and speed drying

So far no problems, in about another hour I will take the battery off and hit it with the multimeter to see if it charged.
