Argh..

Whilst traveling for the holidays, I believe I managed to get my brother-in-law to start vaping, to much the the surprise (and happiness) of my sister. As a result, my backup device (proveri) and more importantly 3.7v charger, are on loan, but for the best of reasons.

Along comes Odysseus, which I can't put down, and can actually slightly out pace my LifePo charger. Ordered a new charger (4 slots), and higher MA batteries, but didn't spring from express shipping since frys has a 3.7v charger in stock.

What a POS. 2 hours of blinking about saying it's charging, and it reports fault. No charge on the batts. Need to test on the multimeter to see if they are even functional now.

So now I sit, waiting for a pair of 3.0v to charge, with what was my (Gifted/PIF) staple at the start of this endeavor, an ego 3.2v and a clearomizer.

It's just not the same.

Lessons learned:
1) After I got Odysseus up and running, there is no turning back.
2) Amps drawn per hour vs Charging amps per hour is a useful number ;).
3) Ih you find a charger that's not offered by any of the major ecig vendors, there might be a reason.
4) It's all worth it, as there will soon be an other ex-smoker in the family.

Might have to road trip to the nearest Brick and Mortar (madvapes) tomorrow to solve this little problem. A problem I would easily classify as a "First world problem".

Maybe I'll tie some bacon to the rear bumper and see if rat dog will follow me ;).

Off to check batteries.

Ha this s the reason I have so many backups. Although every time I have this same problem. Every time I go to buy another 3v charger I tell myself the kick is coming soon you can wait but here I am waiting the last 40 min to vape because all 3 of my 3v sets are dead

That's awful Fright. I learned right away when I got my very first 3V charger. It arrived DOA. Only thing I don't have 2 of is the Pila. I have been thinking about getting another one, but I still have another charger as backup.

Well, that confirms one of two things:

1) I'm not a dumbass, and it's common.
2) We're both dumbasses.

Unfortunately, I have to lean towards the latter, as it's such an easy problem to solve.

:p

Welcome to the club.

LOL Yeah I started 6v vaping right about the same time as I heard about the kick. So I only bought 1 charger thinking it would be out for Christmas. unfortunatly that didn't happen so I am debating buying another charger. For now untill I recoupe some Christmas, GG, and car repair losses I am just making due. I might actually go back to a 1.5 ohm coil to try.

God I'm so jealous you can drive to madvapes lol

Good luck with the batteries!

You and me both. Although if I could my checks would probably be gone before I got them (not that they aren't already lol)

It really isn't that bad I have a VV device I can put the Ody on if I really want to. Or I can throw my UFS on the GGTS at 3.7 or I can build a coil and go 7.4 because I have plenty 18350s

Color me lucky I guess, being satisfied at 3.7 and all... :p And yes I have treied high(er) voltages. I just prefer the taste and temps or lack there of at 3.7.

It does make life easier though to have ready access to so many inexpensive 3.7 chargers. Well except for the Pila but that goes without saying. ;)

Hey Major, with the right wire, wick and juice you will be off to the races w/6V. I never thought so until Bruce made me do it. Ha. I am going to make a 1.3 setup for 3.7 next on the Od. to see how it is.

I PM'd you Zogem, but I'll got ahead and post this here for the benefit of any others in ATL. Fry's usually carries Tenergy RCR123A 3v chargers, and there's a place called Going Gear in Smyrna that carries Trustfire TR-001s at a decent price (Like $12, I think.)
Got a large collection of the tenergys from frys already (I drive up i85 daily ). Going gear no longer carries the TR-001 but they had a no-name brand.

Unfortunately the 3.7v charger I got from frys appears to have killed one of my 18250s, so now I'm on a battery hunt (or rebuild the addy with less Ohm).

I really like my Ultrafire WF-188 chargers. Got two of them, they do both 3.7v and 3v, also can change the mAh output. Good stuff.

I second this, I've got to get a backup one just in case but mines been working solidly for over a year without a hicup. For 3.7v though I always use my Pila, it just charges so quick and consistant.

DealExtreme. As long as you order a month before you need it then they're awesome.
Lol.. You should know from our brief dealings that I'm far to impetious for that. I'm the one willing to drive to madvapes to buy batteries ;)

I didn't take a month to buy my house.

My wayward UFS would tearing me apart had I not purchased yours (next day delivery as I recall).

Need it. Get it. Get it off the list.

Hanging out at the office surfing the web for at most a few hours beats the crap out of an 7 hr round trip drive.

Zogem,
You are aware that Tenergy makes two different 123a's right?

One is a LiFePO4 3V and the other is a Li-Ion 3V.

The LiFePO4 is naturally 3.2V nominal working V and the charger actually cuts off the chge at 3.6-3.7. Tenergy labels these cells @ 750mAh

The Li-Ion is a natural 3.7 volt battery that has a diode in the batterty like a PCB that regulates the V down to a 3.2 V working Voltage. The charger for that has a voltage cut off like a normal Li-Ion battery charger @ 4.2V. Tenergy label these @ 900mAh

If you are putting the LiFePO4 in a Li-Ion charger then the charger will fault out, this keeps the cells from going POP, I still would not use the LiFePO4 batteries after any time spent on a Li-Ion charger. For safety reasons I would dispose of the batteries properly and replace them. Vaping is all fun and games till someone gets their face melted of by a cell that has gone into thermal runaway.

Just thought I would drop all this out here for you or anyone else that might have been looking at the 4 bay charger or have had difficulties in the batteries or charging the batteries.
