Odysseus vs Penelope?

Sorry if this has been covered!
I just got the GG Odysseus v2 with the expansion (medium clear tank, and long mouthpiece) coming in the mail and am starting to wish I got a Penelope, but I'm not sure.
Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited for the Ody, but I'm starting to think it will look too big on my Provari Mini (not that it's a huge deal) and that there is a stronger throat hit on the Penelope?

I'm used to using a Genesis Line, which I liked more than the Genesis Maxi. Are the Ody and Penelope similar in that regard?
I like a good throat hit, so would I be better off with a Penelope?

I suppose I could always trade for a Penelope, but I don't want to jump to conclusions yet, so I'd love to hear your guys thoughts on the differences between the two, besides size.

I've owned both and have been using the Odys for 6 months. I sold the pennys and will keep the Odys forever. They are great. There is more coil room, and they hold way more juice. Especially where you scored the X pack. Congrats and enjoy.

I started with the Penny first .Totally loved what it could put out in th and flavor. Then my Odys started knocking on my door. Love them as much but not more in certain concerns. I find them different in many aspects and would not part with any.
You may find you like one over the other and also miss the heck out of one or the other. As far as throat hit goes there is far more room to work with the Ody. Best wishes and enjoy the Ody with full mode.

Give the Ody a chance but in my experience, Penelope provides a better throat hit. I have both and do not plan on selling either as they offer a little different vaping experience.

And when talking about throat hit.. how much more th does penelope give? Sometimes I find myself wanting more and more throat hit, but lately it hasn't been as big of a concern. I think I was trying to replicate the harshness of cigarettes, so maybe I will be more content with the Ody.

Tank size isn't the biggest deal to me anymore, I actually only go through about 2-3ml a day, so maybe at the end of the day Penelope will be better, but I'll wait and see

And in terms of pricing for trade, how much is the full Ody v2 with the expansions worth compared to the Penelope?

I've got three Odys and just traded my Penelope for a different atty. the biggest advantage the Ody has over the Pene is the GGTS Base. Imeo has one coming for Pene soon though. With 510 base I preferred the Ody on my Provari mini. The diameter is just about a perfect match and I like a shorter mod, that's why I got a mini in the first place. I traded a whole Expansion set for one of the Odys I have just because it was too long for me. My Odys are all V1's, I like the ceramic on both sides. I would like some V2 mouthpieces though because they are a bit longer. All of them work great, kinda hard for me to compare TH because I always had different juices in each tank and never did a direct comparison. You'll be happy with whichever you get and if you're like me, the one you get first will probably always be your favorite.

dont worry about throat hit sub, just make a lower resistance and you will be ok

Well about penny she is a great Vape ,what can I say ... Oddy I didn't try yet but hope that I will soon .
For TH just increase the Nic + lower ohms and you'll be fine ...if not happy with the size of oddy on the proveri mini ... We can trade my penny for ur oddy .... An other penny on the horizon ..

Im sure u will Enjoy oddy tho.

ive see a lot of Odys on Provaris and they seem to fit perfectly. Ive seen some people that get a special skirt for the Provari so that the slant isnt noticed as much for a nice sleek look

Thanks everyone, I definitely feel a lot better and am so excited to get the Ody in the mail. I will go for lower resistance to up the TH if needed. I want to use a cotton wick, but I'm not sure if it is more finicky than just using silica, so maybe I'll use the silica first just to try it out, then move on to cotton.

Oh yeah, and I heard you can use your resistance wire as the no-resistance wire if you double or triple it? All I've got is 32 gauge nichrome wire right now.

cotton or silica perform similar, just that with cotton is basically single use. You cant clean and dry burn it and use it again. I found that the good silica like the one at COV or silica works. com( i like the silica wicks, no off taste or need to torch) tastes better than cotton. If you want to use non-silica everyone seems to prefer the bamboo thread like the one at Aunt Lydias bamboo yarn site.

Really the only thing I'm afraid of with the silica is the particulate that can get in your lungs... after reading the wick material thread in the modding section I never wanted to go near silica.. Are there any more studies on this?

Yeah I have to agree. I don't own an Oddy but I do rock a Penelope and I would NEVER use cotton in it. As stated it doesn't take long to gunk up and when it does there is nothing you can really do since you can't dry burn it. And since it takes extra work joining the wires or especially if you use a prejoined wire you definitely don't want to have to take it all apart and chuck it in the bin after just a couple days. Honestly I think Imeo's wick tastes a lot better than any cotton wick i've ever tried anyways! Go for the 3.5mm silica from CoV!

Yup I ordered 3.5mm wick from CoV. But in Cotton's defense, the taste is completely gone after a half hour or so, at least when I used it on my Lines with SS.

Out of curiosity, how many times can you dry burn silica?

I've dry burned mine probably 20+ times before without ill effects.

To the OP: I personally prefer Penny on my Provari, just looks better IMO. Although I am curious about this Ody "skirt" I saw mentioned - anyone have a link?

Oh sweet, thanks Scott. I was looking for it as well. Not sure if I'll get it, though.. I'm going to be looking for a GGTS and Stealth Cap soon, so I dunno if I'll use the Provari after that much.

And as far as having the Ody on the Provari, I think it looks fine.. I saw it in pictures before I got it and it looked worse than I thought it would... for some reason in person the bezel edge of the Provari isn't quite as bad.. the Ody is the same diameter as the Provari. I like it, but I'm still eager to get a GGTS
