We have already had some great reviews from your fellow forum members on our 4.5V KR808D batteries and flavor:

From Tee217
First off thank you for the oppurtinity to try you're wonderful product. I am truly amazed by this little device. I use larger type devices that are manuals, due to poor preformance and batterly life. Now these little guys got me eating my words.

I have an automatic which I love for the ease of use, it is not sensitive to wind or noise at all. No primer puff required just take a nice draw and BAM!!!! nice warm Holy Crap!!!!! look at that vapor.... Did I say IMPRESSED... Well I truly am.
I love the way this device feels in my hand. it's not to heavy, It's very well made and feels very sturdy.
Looks very sleek especialy with the different colored cartos(thanks for that extra touch). The cartos are great, they perform very well. I got about 300 puffs out of them. No dry spots or burnt tastes on any of them.
The battery on the automatic is nice it has a very tiny air hole I was skeptical at first cause it was so small. Than I hit it and the draw is very smooth and easy it's just rite. The small hole is a plus, harder to get juice in causing battery failure.
The battery lasted me about 3 hrs it stayed very consistent up until maybe 15 min before it died.(sad Face). It charged in a couple hrs.(happy again) The taste, TH and Vapor is very close to what I get on a bigger mod which I didn't expect at all. A+
I had planned to gift this but I'm gonna have to keep it to myself. I like it for out and about.
I will definatly recommend this product. It is A+ product the only thing I would recommend is including 5 carts instead of 2. The price is fair though even with 2 carts.
My only negative point is that I only have 1 of these, gonna have to take care of that. Guess I'm gonna have to work some overtime, which I'm gonna go do now. Flavor reveiw coming when I get home. Thanks get You're orders in folks you wont be dissappointed.

From Natalia
First let me say I love kr808d-1 systems. I use them everyday. Although I use other PVs also.

I received my Mini Starter Kit, as one of the Lucky 5, this morning. It came in a nice laminated cardboard cig flip top box which holds one USB charger, I battery, and two cartomizers.

I put the USB into a 5v 2amp charger and the battery charged in less than 1 hour. The light on the USB goes from red to green when fully charged.

I'm vaping Vanilla at 12mg. So far the taste, vapor, and battery function is great! It's a nice warm hit every time with really good vapor. I'm not big on TH so I can't judge it. If it doesn't make me cough, I'm happy.

I metered the cartos at 2.7 to 2.8 ohms. The cartos have a hard cap, but pop off easily with the same binder clip I use to pop out soft caps. I can tell these will refill easily with either drip or syringe. This is a huge plus as is the horizontal coil!

The battery I asked for is a manual. It's white with a blue LED and looks great with the blue VaporSmiths logo. It has a really nice feel and weight and I like the gold button which has a nice firm push/click to it. Cutoff seems to be about 5-6 secs, but the button responds immediately for a longer draw. I can't believe that at approx. 3.25 inches this is a 190mah battery. I'll see how long it last before needing a recharge.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to test this unit Steve, and also for the "one of every flavor" extra cartos.

So far, very good and consistent from hit to hit over the last hour... so if it keeps up as is, it's definitely worth the 19.95 asking price!

These are my first impressions. I'll update after a few days of use.
N.

We have many other very satisfied reviews from other customers. They love the vapor, throat hit, and flavor. Give us a try we give you the highest quality products and service at the lowest possible prices.

Question for people, as you know we offer 2 relatively basic starter kits, Would anyone see value in offering more robust packages?

For example, some ideas we are throwing around:
Premium Starter Kit:
Everything in the Standard Starter Kit + USB Pass Through for 49.95

Supreme Starter Kit
Everything in the Premium Starter Kit + Portable Charging case for 64.95

Epic Starter Kit
Everything in the Supreme Starter Kit + Vehicle Charger and 6 flavor Sampler Cartomizers for 76.95

What are your thoughts?

After three days I'm ready to add to my first impressions.

For those who don't want a more detailed read I'll start by saying VaporSmiths, (VS for short in this review), batteries are great, and their cartos give amazing warmth and really good vapor. Customer Service is awesome! That's all you need to know. ;)

More details:

The battery is indeed a higher voltage than the standard kr808d-1 batts. I've been comparing hits side by side with my 3.7 volt 808 battery. Using VS cartos, the warmth of the VS carto is definitely more intense on the VS battery than on the 3.7v battery.

Also, comparing hits side by side with my usual 3.2 ohm carto, my usual carto has more warmth on the VS battery than on my 3.7v 808 battery, which makes sense on a higher volt battery.

I'm really impressed with the manual battery button. Very consistent each hit. I feel it's a quality battery. I have not tried the auto battery, so can't say anything about the function on it.

The battery has been lasting me anywhere between 1 & 1/2 - 3 hours, but please note, I'm not consistent in my vaping habits. I vape unevenly during the day, but tend to chain vape in the evenings. An easy solution is to buy more batts, and the VS PCC, which looks amazing in the pictures. I can't wait until I can order it. :)

I don't usually wait until my battery flashes to charge it. If the I know the carto is filled and warmth or vapor decrease, I put the batt on a 5v 2amp charger. It's usually fully charged within an hour. For the sake of this review, I did let the battery drain to blinking at me. The recharge time on that was appox. 2 hours 15 min.

As I suspected, the cartos are easily refilled with your favorite liquid. Mine is a 50/50 PG-VG blend, and the vapor becomes fuller with the added VG!

Yesterday I washed a few of the VS cartos for this review. They wash up easily with my usual routine, which includes hot water, Everclear or high proof vodka, and a turkey baster. The filler came out as white as snow even after using a dark coffee juice. Today I'm using one I cleaned and it vapes like new. Fantastic!

One thing that took me by surprise... I was vaping VS vanilla at 12mg, then refilled with my favorite coffee liquid at 18mg. Okay, huge difference! My usual 18mg hit me like it was 24mg! I had to reduce my draw time to accommodate for the TH :D. Which is a good thing because the battery lasted longer between charges ...LOL.

I placed a second order and forgot to state I wanted a manual battery. I posted here and Steve emailed immediately letting me know he personally fixed the order for me. We emailed back and forth a few times. He seems to be a really stand up guy and is seriously dedicated to customer service and input.

I won't give flavor reviews, other than to say my favorite VS flavor is Vanilla. Taste is just too subjective.

So to sum up, the manual battery I have is great, the cartos are warm and wonderful, the customer service is awesome!

My only suggestions would be maybe adding some higher mAh XL batteries, more flavors or blank cartos, and if possible, soft tips on the cartomizers, (though the hard tips do pop off very, very easily with a binder clip or large tack or large paper clip).

As always, MHO. :)

Natalia,

Thank You so much for the kind words.

We are working on a higher mAh, battery at the same 4.5V - I can easily make them longer, but I am really trying to push engineering to making it same size or just slightly longer. My goal is to make batteries at 4.5V that are the same size but 280 mAh. and then sell XL ones that are 380+.

I can get blank cartos, and I suppose I could carry a small amount in stock. I just don't sell juice, and won't sell juice for reasons I posted on another thread, way to much liability imho.

I am also considering adding longer cut off times - There is a reason I keep these relatively short. The combination of my battery + my cartos = Huge Vapor and throat hit. If I change to say 10 second cut offs, people could really blast through a carto and it could really burn up the carto faster. I know I am going to push it out to 7-8 seconds but beyond that we start doing more harm than good, and as you experienced, you can really get a crazy hit with my batts even with 5-6 second cutoffs.

I am glad you enjoy the product we put so much time and effort into, and I hope others will enjoy it as much as you have.

Hi Steve, I know this didn't require a response, but what the heck....LOL

A 280mAh would be absolutely perfect!! I agree with your reasons not to carry liquid. There are plenty of vendors to buy from already and many people are into DIY, so I see no need for you to carry it.

Blanks are not a big deal, as your cartos refill and clean beautifully. After I posted I started thinking to myself, "If there were blanks, they would probably be black and wouldn't have the nice colors on the cartos... I'd rather have the colors!!" :). I have no problem with the battery cutoff time. As I stated the manual reacts again instantly and with the greater voltage you're right.... WOW!

The product does your time and effort proud! I'm so glad I found you. I'm already saving for my next purchase... gotta get that PCC! :)

Hi, Steve! Love the reviews of your new product! I'm really intrigued about your 4.5v supermini batteries. Do they really output 4.5v under load? Or is this the nominal, unloaded reading, freshly off the charger?

All I know is that standard Li-Ion batteries' working voltage is ~3.6v.

Thank you.

Well it wouldn't remain a secret for very long as all one has to do is simply disassemble the casing... BTW do not do this, you don't want to mess with Li-ion batteries and risk cutting one open it could explode or burn you.

It is not in series, it is simply a 4.5V Battery, in order to achieve this the battery is longer.... I mean we could have made it smaller but then it would have been under 150 mAh...

Well let me clarify my previous response and then respond to your next question.... Our battery from full charge will under load be at 4.5V - as time goes on it will reduce down towards the end of the battery charge, like any other battery.

These batteries will not charge properly on the USB connector that came with your other 808D-1s. This is why we give you one in the mini starter kit. Once again the voltage difference will cause it not to charge properly.

It will not. And let me add once again - I am not the engineer:) I have sent him a message to clarify how we pump these up to 4.5V.

I know this, I have a 4.2V charger from another 808 model and it will never show that my battery is charged, nor does it get to full charge. Please be patient. I am an Economics guy, not so much an electrical engineer.

My engineer, speaks english, but doesn't write it so well, he lives in China but does not work directly with our factory. Here is his explanation.

"To achieve 4.5V we use microchip to make voltage 4.5V, make more power, but battery not last as long, unless make bigger. Reason other charge probably no work well because require minimum 4.5V input acceptance. Output can sometime be less than 4.5V but will always be at or well above 4.2V after full charge. That why we had them pair with higher oHm cartomizer so we no burn up cartomizer. I think beter to not send technical drawings to customer as is our designs. They have question because most battery only output to 3.7V ours uses chip to boost higher output. Out put will be between 4.5 and 4.2 accordingly design.

So to translate that from Xiaotu speak - Sounds like we use some kind of booster to drive it to 4.5V.

Yes the language barrier can be an issue, but I am learning Mandarin. And I travel to Factory a great deal.

I know that people are skeptical of our batteries, but as you have seen from reviews they do create good vapor, more than regular 808's.
