Just got my Reo Grand in the mail and vaping away! Got it from another ECF'er who's moved on to VV.

It's great. :) Didn't realize it'd be this easy and all this time I've been hunting down tube style mech mods (got a few). Guess I need to hit up the store and get a couple of extra springs and other repair items. Seriously considering selling my GP Paps and getting a Reomizer and another Reo mod.

Any suggestion on parts, other than the springs, that I might need?

PS: Already found out that Boba's Bounty just won't work. No matter how hard you mash the bottle.

Congrats!
As far as feeding thick juice you might look and see if there's a reducer in the feed tube.
It comes with the REOs for use with thin juice, the Grand should feed Boba's without the reducer unless the restriction is the atty itself?
Oh, a rebuild kit would be nice to have on hand, but yes an extra spring at the least.
I'm really enjoying the Grand with the Reomizer2 'RM2"

YaY! You got it!

O.K. Bobas and any 100% VG juice will work perfectly. Robert only uses 100% VG and the REO's are made for it. I too only use 100% VG and very thick juice.

Check the tube, see if it is suctioning against the bottom or side of the bottle. If it is you can trim it a little. Do it at a slant.

Check to see if you have the cap too tight. It can make a difference.

If other juice works then you know the tubing is not blocked.

You may want to try popping the o-ring out of the cap (you can do it with a paper clip), then clean it and re-install - just get the o-ring started in the cap threads, then screw the bottle on which will re-seat it. Also, you can try filling the bottle with water, vodka or PGA and squonking it up through the connector to see if it is flowing OK.

I was using a 510 atty. The tube might have been touching the bottom, but I switched juices and have no problems. I'll try re-cutting the tube at a slant and see if that helps. Thanks for the tips! I definitely would like to use Boba's on this. Only have about 65 mls left but maybe they'll be back open before it runs out.

I also switched to a 306 atty (after trying the 510) to see if the flavor changed, using a 306DCA. Maybe a slight difference for the better.

WELCOME LAMARRK AND CONGRATS!!!

Love my button cover for the RG from reomods.com. :).

Its not the juice giving you the problem. If the the tube is off the bottle floor methinks you may have over squonked a bit. This can easily happen with a full bottle of juice especially with a newcomer. Remove your atty and see if the 510 connector on the mod has juice inside (like a pool). If it does, your system is flooded and this prevents normal squonking at times. Unscrew the bottle cap and see if the level inside the connector empties out, if not, you may have to blow the juice back into the bottle (gently, wont take much). Some attys dont recommend this so do it with the atty removed and blow from the RG connector. Make sure the atty is not flooded, reassemble, hit the button and see if you have vapor. Squonk as needed.

With a full bottle a very light, short squonk is required for the juice to reach the coil. I recommend filling bottles only 3/4 full to help alleviate this problem. Try it, its a free fix so see how it goes. I've had to do this several times and its been helpful. :)

You say you got it from another ECFer, so maybe it just needs a really good bath. If it's been sitting for awhile and not being used, it could just be all gunky. Take off the atty, take off the bottle, and remove the battery THEN run hot water from the faucet through it. Run it as hot as you can stand, or even soak it in hot water for awhile. There could be old juice up in the connection. Then let it dry. I'd apply a spot of Noalox on the tip of the positive connection if you have any. Here's a video from the REOSMODS site: mod maintenance - YouTube

I cut my tube into a "V" shape.

I as well, in addition, also. Too. It's not actually a V, I cut an angle off the bottom, but that cut did not span the entire bottom of the tube, which left me with an angle > 90 degress, making it impossible for the tube to completely suction to the bottle no matter how hard it's forced into a corner.

I watched that video last night (before it came today) and the first thing was a bath. Followed the directions, even taking the tubing off and cleaning it (it definitely needed cleaning). Watched the video again and gave it another bath then tried the Boba's again. Success! Just had to hold the squeeze longer and wait for it to show up in the well. I'm surprised that the Empire Mod LR 510 atty actually gives a better taste than the 306 atty. The tube was already cut on a slant so I was good in that aspect. One thing I didn't do was reglue the tube to the feed on the 510 connector. Is that gonna cause me problems (possibly leaking)?

Again, thanks for all the tips and feedback. I am reading with an open mind and trying the suggestions!

The 18490 Reo is looking more and more like it'll be my next purchase, if I don't get the VV model. I already have a bunch of VV stuff (2 Provaris, 3 Vamos, 2 eVics, plus an EA mod, Gus Tele, and a GP Paps ... Sigeli #19 on order via co-op).
