Hello! New member, but been vaping for a couple of years already. Started out as many others did with a cigalike, then to ego, Provari 2.5 and now a P3. For tanks i started out with the cheap ego clearos, then some protanks, the nautilus, Kayfun lite+ and now a Kayfun v4.

I am guessing the next logical step would be a RDA with a high output device, but I am not sure about it, and pretty happy with the setup I already have. I might do it, but then again I might not.. Depends on the money I guess...

Anyway, I am glad to be a member of ECF. The fight for vaping continues as politicians in various countries are still on the fence whether vaping is a good thing or no. I sure hope that we come out on top in the end..

Welcome to ECF, starZtorm! I don't own a Provari, but a bunch of folks on here will tell you that you can't go wrong with them. I've got an MVP 3, a Kbox mini, and 3 Subtank minis for my main setups. Started with an ego in May of last year, then progressed to an MVP 2. The Subtanks and MVP 3 came early this year, and I'm glad I got into sub-ohming. Nothing crazy, just good vapor with good flavor. Vape on!

Welcome @StarZtorm. I personally went through the same progression, from cigalikes to nautilus to Kayfuns. I took the next step with the Kanger Subtank Mini, liked it, tried dripping, liked it, but I missed the sensation and relaxation of a simple Mouth-to-Lung device. Spent a fair amount of money on sub-ohming setups to discover that my personal preference wasn't cloud chasing, but flavor and MTL. Went back to my Kayfuns and have been loving it. You may wind up doing the same thing, but you won't know what your preferences are until you try some different setups.

Hear hear! I have been thinking about maybe a Stingray or Glas mod with a RDA on top. But I guess by now those mods are old news and I have'nt been looking at RDA's for the longest time so I have no clue about those.. Not to mention the high output devices out there now with 200watts at the press of a button. Heh, you start looking and bro does the head spin after a while.

at this moment, an el cabron rda on an el cabron box mod (both from compvape - love their rda's)... will get on the road shortly for work, bringing an innokin disrupter with kanger subtank +, and a smok x cube 2, with a freemax starre pro tank...

Bringing all that in the car? Where do you put your coffee dude? :D

I looked at both of those, but opted for a ViciousAnt Phenom and an Epic Designs SMPL. The SMPL has a direct-to-battery hybrid top so that MUST be approached with caution. The Phenom has a hybrid top cap as well, but it has an adjustable center pin.

I'm currently using the Phenom with my KF4, 28gKA1 7 wrap (spaced) 2.5mm @ 1.3 ohms. At full battery (4.2v) 13.5w, at recharge (3.6v) 10w.

That has a very clean look to it. Very nice indeed. Seems to me we use the same coil build. Mine is also a 7 wrap (atleast i think it is) but mine reads at just below 1.5 ohms. Does spacing lower the resistance of the coil? And how do you manage that accurately? I mean, I build a coil, wrap it around a 2.4mm flathead. screw it down, pinch the coil together and fire it to make it heat evenly and then put the cotton in.. Oh and what cotton do you use? any particular stuff? I bought into the whole organic japanese yada yada and bought a few packs of Koga cotton.

It doesn't do much for resistance, I find wicking more efficient and better flavor using spaced coils.

And how do you manage that accurately?

I have an older coil master type coiling tool that has 4 different sizes of posts. I use the 2.5mm post. I also tighten and squeeze the coil together by hand while still on the coiler to get tight, even spacing. I do fire it before wicking, but I don't squeeze it together. This has been my go-to coil for about 6 months and is very consistently @ 1.3 ohms.

Oh and what cotton do you use?

I have the mega Muji Cotton pack you can find on Amazon or Fleabay for around $10 that should last for years.
