With my mother.....

We live in different states (plane flight away) and I converted her to vaping a few months ago. She wanted to start small, so okay...I got her an Ego Winder..something like that (yeah, I know....) but it was at a local store (she tried it) and I have one of her credit cards because I do all her online buying (and apparently local buying now), etc ). Now I'm stuck in this loop and I can't get out. I've flown there 3 times in the last 6 weeks (my Dad has been in the hospital) and she's tried my Provari. Will absolutely NOT buy one, and trust me I've tried and tried. It's not about the money, it's "too complicated, even the mini is too big, she doesn't want that, she doesn't want to drive with it and it look like a dildo (HA)...she likes what she has and on and on".

She doesn't want me to order anything online "vapor wise" because she wants it instantly (and I can have it Fex Exed overnight here at work and payroll deducted for a corporate discount...really wish I hadn't told her that). So....okay. Here we go again. She wants another battery, 5 liquids (that they ONLY sell at one store here and won't ship) and they only come in 15 ML. :?:

I'm so happy that she converted but I feel like my second job is her vaping assistant. haha And FYI, she's like 50....not 80. She can use the internet. I really am happy to help her out so I'm not complaining (more find it funny) but I'm going on these vaping ventures weekly now. She's about to get hooked up with about 3-6 months worth this time.

Some people just need to be hand-held the entire step of the way. You're right, it's really not that complicated nor is it rocket science to learn how to use a Provari. Some people just don't want to learn something new or different from what they are familiar with. It's more about being stubborn than incapable to learn something new.

Having said that, some people are very choosy to form factor and size. I've seen people using cigalikes with prefilled flavor cartridges for months and be happy with all the conveniences/inconveniences that they bring to the table. I started with those and couldn't imagine using them again myself. At least an Ego is an intermediate size that performs better than a cigalike.

As owners of Provari's we often believe everyone should have one. They are not ideal for everyone. There are other dogs in the show that can work just as well. Whatever keeps them off the smokes.

That is a cute story. If you get her hooked up with 3-6 months worth, then you won't have to keep running there. You are such a "good" daughter!

I try to be :) Oh yes...she's getting a big order this time. I'll tell her after it's done. ;) She always says "buy some stuff for yourself for going though all that trouble" which I never do of course. I just tell her a TEENY WEENY white lie and tell her I got "something" for me, or else she wouldn't be able to let it go.

The craziest part is I was sending her the goods while she was with my dad in ICU. She'd tell all the nurses....."DON'T OPEN THAT PACKAGE"!!! (nah, that's not suspicious at all) Uhh, I work in healthcare, my husband works in Trauma and ICU...we honestly don't care. She doesn't believe me. Oh well.

That's an awesome story, really kind and generous for you to fly out there all the time, but it's family so ya kinds have to :p I've been trying to get my mom to go to anything from cigs. She just keeps telling me that the nicotine won't be high enough.

Looking back at all these posts on this sub forum, everyone is just so selfless and willing to help. You guys keep amazing me.

If only you could vape on the plane it wouldn't be so bad. :p

Someone may call it a bomb, but you can't say bomb on a plane. Bomb bomb bomb bomb.. I really should wake up completely before posting on here.

Hehehe. That was funny. I would just be happy if people wouldn't make chit chat in the next seat. Thank God the regulations have changed cause now I can have headphones on the entire time to ward off conversations. :)

I have a friend that is the same way. I loaned her a ProVari because she's costing me too much money buying so many eGos that she loses or breaks. She didn't like the ProVari for the same reasons as your mom. Just wants an small eGo with a disposable clearo. I gave her 6 little Fasttech eGos and 10 clearos before Christmas and on Christmas day I get a call from her. Tells me she misplaced everything and wants to know where she could buy one as she "needed" one ASAP. She still smokes but not in her car. That's when I loaned her my ProVari. But she found it too difficult to take the battery out to recharge it.

I bought her two new decent eGo set ups with 20 extra clearos and told her I'm done (in a nice way, of course). Even gave her a listing of all the vape shops in the area. There's only so much one can do......

Ya know, she might just be needing you there, too.
After the big order, you'll see - if her device mysteriously stops working right, or all her juice spills...
:glare:
:)

Ahhhhhh. I'll get you my little pretty ;). Don't jinx me. You are making me want to stealth vape in my office right now. Haha

That is awesome of you to help her like that. My wife did not want a provari either. It was too big and too complicated. She wanted a zmax. (which i think was more complicted, but that is just me) and when that craped out (only two weeks after getting it) she went with the provari. She just wanted something that worked and we all know it does. You never know she might change her mind along the way. Until then have fun and enjoy having something you and your mom can have fun with together.

I'm 70 and my daughter was doing the exact same thing after I got her started. It irked me particularly because she lives in a metroplex where B&Ms abound and I only have two nearby and not close (I'm rural) and they're not good ones. If I had as many B&Ms as she does, I would have checked every one of them out but she doesn't want to learn. I finally just put my foot down and told her if she was going to continue vaping she would have to shop for herself but I would send her tips in email and be here for info. She's still using the same Joye Ego kit I bought her and hasn't learned a thing beyond it. So, I sure don't have an answer.

As for Provari: I don't want one and wouldn't advise one for her. Its not about the price but the form factor and weight as we both have different hand/arm problems using and carrying... cell phone weights are bad enough these days.
