What little I have read on it is it will be similar to Wisconsin one where the tax is applied at the seller. Similar to the cigarette stamping tax.

A sales tax is basically an escrow applied at the point of sale that the seller collects and pays to the state. This would apply prior to that. So it should not add to your use tax. If you are one of the few Americans that actually calculate use tax. I do too.

Of course by the time it goes through its process it will probably change 10 times.

Made me set up a twitter account too. I also wrote my State representative and senator. You can find your state rep here The Ohio House of Representatives and there's a link there for the state senator contact info.

Besides stating the health/quitting smoking and of course tax concerns I also asked them how many Ohio jobs they wanted to eliminate pointing out that Altsmoke is based in New Philadelphia Ohio and they have B&M stores statewide.

If enough legislators hear from enough of us it might do some good.

Hello from Michigan! Our Republican Governor is trying to get vaping lumped in with the heavily taxed tobacco products classification. Guess what. This issue goes beyond party politics. Both parties are looking for tax dollars and FEAR cigarette smoking will diminish and thus the tax base. Our goal is to bring the attention of all politicians that the reduction of health care costs will more than offset the lost taxes. Bonus? New businesses and more revenue and jobs. Let them know it is a win win situation.
