Running a sigelei 100W Plus with Doge V2

I've read that 1ohm is pretty good for beginning and your first time wrapping coils so that's my goal for this thread.

So with the Doge I'm capable of running dual coil which is my intentions. As I've read, To achieve 1ohm on a dual coil, I will have to build dual 2ohm coils?
I've watched a few videos and for the most part people are saying 1/8" is a good diameter to wrap on for beginners?

I then went and checked out a coil wrapping calculator and one of the options says "leg length (total per coil)". I have no idea what these means and I haven't seen anyone talk about it?

Could anyone also direct or explain to me the difference between round and ribbon kanthal?

OVERVIEW:
Kanthal 28g a1 Round
Dual Coil
Target Resistance 1ohm
1/8" inner diameter
Leg length: UNKNOWN
Tells me to wrap 8.8 times (8 or 9?)

Thank you!

Fyi - I'm not looking to cloud chase like a :censored:, I'm just sick of this ego pen that is not satisfying at all and keeps pushing me back to ciggs.

The Steam Engine site says a dual coil, 1/8" I.D., 1.0 ohm coil should be a 9/10 wrap.
Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

The leg length refers to the length of wire it takes to get from the coil to the mounting point. In most cases, I use .5mm for that value.

A 9/10 wrap refers to how the wires come off the coil. If they each come off the same side, it's going to be 10 wraps. If the go in opposite directions (as in a Kayfun style build), you can count 9 wires on the top, 10 on the bottom (where the wires exit the coil).

EDIT: And yes, dual coil builds are 1/2 the total resistance of one coil...

On this video, he may have simply trimmed the legs down to make installing them easier. I'm sure he didn't cut them completely off unless it's a build technique I've never seen before. You (as far as my experience) have to have some sort of legs to install the coils, but the legs when installed and trimmed are usually around an 1/8" in length.

Hi jburridge and welcome aboard!

Do you have an ohm meter to check your coil builds before putting them on your expensive Segelei? I know the Segelei is a regulatd mod and will give you an ohm reading, and has protection in its circuirty, but having an inexpensive ohm meter to check beforehand is good insurance, IMHO.

Anyway, Happy Vaping!
