Ohm meter not working?

need a little more info first
First is your meter auto ranging on the Ohms scale some are and some need to be set to the range being tested
second are you testing the leads from the coil
Third is you Meter zeroable
set your meter on Ohms scale touch the leads together see what the reading is this is the resistance in your leads and tips this must be subtracted from the final reading. So meters calibrate to 0 by holding the leads together and turning on the unit. what unit are you using

Also tried switching between different sets of batteries. How would I remedy the center post issue?

I had that issue with my Russian 91% but it luckily has the adjustable post, you could have a bad ohm reader with the fixed center post to deep. I have had the "1" error when my batteries were still good.

Open up the box and check out the center pin; or first try pulling the center pin upwards.


I recently repaired a center pin by taking the mod apart, taking out the centerpin; and replaceing the flimsy grommet that was there with one of the hard rubber grommets that come with protank coils. had to do some soldering too.
