Ohms and Atomizers!

At the moment I have a pair of Vision Spinner 1300mAH batteries and iClear 16s which I got a couple of weeks ago. Firstly I'm going to be ordering some new coils for them and was wondering what resistance to get. I think my Spinners have a maximum amperage output of 2.5A from what I've read. I've seen charts like this one and from that one I gather that the maximum wattage generally for PVs is about 8.5W. I've seen people say that low voltage resistors are better but since I have a VV battery is that actually relevant to me? As my battery has a VV range of 3.3V-4.8V it would appear to me that something like a 2.5Ω would actually give me the most range while still being able to reach maximum wattage. This may all be wrong by the way so please correct me if it is, I'm obviously still new to all of this! I also noticed that Innokin recommend a 2.0Ω resistor only for VV devices on the iClear 16, not sure how important that is!

The second question is I've got a few new flavours in to try out. I just tried liquorice tobacco which was a strong flavour but quite nice. However even though I gave the clearo a good wipe down including the wicks I've put the next flavour in and I can still taste liquorice after quite a while! So I was thinking of buying an atomizer for trying out new flavours but wouldn't have a clue which one would fit my Spinner. Is there a name for the thread type on the Spinner? If anyone has a recommendation for an atomizer please also let me know.

everybody has their own likes some like a 2.5 ohm coil it will give you a cooler vape with the device you have but if that same coil is on a DNA20 device then you can push its limits which will give a warm vape , i prefer a warm vape so i tend to go with a 1.5 ohm and on such devices like an ego you can get nice clouds of vapor and still have a fairly cool vape with what you have a 1.5 ohm can give you both worlds at 3.3v it will be cool and if you bump it to 3.9-4.2v it will be nice and warm , just find you likes and dislikes but to do that you will have to buy both coils to find out for yourself but also take into consideration the QC on coils can vary from actual ohm ratings to wicking ability so if you get a coil that is spot on in ohm rating but doesnt wick well you may get a false interpretation so try several in each range to get an accurate experience

I agree with williebb123, you should forget about a coil to give you the most variance on you device, just try out some coils from around 1.5 to 2.5 ohms and see how it *vapes* for *you* - as it is gonna give you a slightly different experience.

And yeah you can wrap your own coils on the iClear 16's - but a little more tricky and finicky being a dual coil compared to single. Did you get the five pack? - lots of scope for you to play if you did.

Ok thanks for the replies and sorry for the delay in replying. I think I'll order some 510 atomizers, probably some of the bridgeless variety for flavour testing. One question I still have is what exactly is the difference between the terms 510, ce4 and eGo because I've heard all of them used to describe devices like mine yet there has to be a difference. To add to my confusion I had to get a ce4-510 adapter for my iClear 16 to fit on 510 drip tips. That means the iClear 16 must have ce4 threads on the drip-tip end and yet it seemingly has 510 threads on the battery end??

My supplier gave me a 5-pack of 2.0Ω coils with my starter kit. I take it that higher ohm coils provide a cooler vape due to lower wattage?

I clear6 is essentially a ce4 with a replaceable head..it has ego threading.. which are on the outside of the battery contact. 510 threads are on the inside of battery contact.

If you get a 510 threaded atomizer, you may want a collar/plinth or skirt to cover ego threads to look more aesthetically pleasing. Collar/plinth is for the thinner tanks at about 17mm. Skirts are for ~22mm tanks.
