If you are using a regular fixed voltage ego style battery at 3.7 volts then the lower the resistance (ohms) of your coil will mean the higher the watts (heat - don't worry about amps until you are really experienced and are getting into mechanical devices)
Most people find that 7.5 watts is ideal for most eliquids for optimum flavor and vapor selection
3.7 volts and 1.5 ohm coil = 9.1 watts - too hot, burnt taste
3.7 colts and 2.2 ohm coil = 6.2 watts - too cold, muted flavor, poor vaper production
3.7 volts and 1.8 ohm coil = 7.6 watts - just right
(should I change my name to Goldi Dakota Jim?)
this is why VV (variable voltage) is so popular and why VW (variable wattage) is getting even more popular
VV - you can set the voltage to get the optimum flavor for the coil and eliquid you have
VW - you can just set the optimum wattage and the device will set itself to the correct voltage depending on the resistance (ohms) of the coil you have - much easier than memorizing an ohms-volt-wattage chart
hope this helps
