Currently have an MVP2 with an rta at 1.5ohms.
Current battery life is showing at 3.8volts.
As far as battery safety goes- it is under the 3amp limit.

So, if I were to set this at 11W with a 1.5ohm resistance.
My understanding is that to achieve that wattage- the battery must send at least 4.06volts according to Ohms Law.
But if my battery only has 3.8volts.. since its not fully charged... then I am technically not getting 11W correct? Theoretically, I am getting 9.6W. So the MVP2 is regulating my Wattage down even though it is not showing it on the LED screen. Is this correct?

No it's a regulated device so it changes the voltage to get the watts, otherwise you would have a mech mod which gives the battery voltage. You running a 3A battery in this? Would have thought it would have said to put a better battery in.

The MVP2 is an internal battery. 2600mah/3amp limit.
So battery life doesn't have an affect on the wattage.. it only applies to mechs?

No, you are getting 11watts.

Most vv/vw batteries have buck/boost circuitry. Basically the chip takes in power from the battery and stores it in a capacitor. When the stored energy reaches the potential (voltage) it dumps out to the atty.

I see. Thanks. But does this also apply to 18650 external battery mods (regulated) as well?

Yes, but not all regulated mods have both buck and boost. I've heard that some of the DNA chips only have boost circuitry so they can not output below battery voltage.

Hopefully someone can correct me if this is wrong about the older DNA chip.

And the DNA40's have this buck/boost? Thanks again. You are a smart woman :)
