OK...Cartos are pretty cool

Just got in my order of cartomizers, and 2 510 usb passthroughs today. My original intention for ordering the cartos was to find an easy way to get my dad to switch to vaping. He has been smoking for 50 years, has emphysema and has tried like me, to quit many, many, many times without any success. He and I have a monthly dad son day, and last time we went out, he tried my cigar, and seemed to really like it. I know the type of person he is, and realized that he wouldn't put in the time or effort to refill carts, or mod them to get the perfect vape. Well, after using this cartomizer tonight, on both my tornado and the usb passthrough, I have to say wow. These things are easy, convenient, and seemingly reliable. Granted time will tell on the reliability, but I have been getting consistent vapes all night, and I have been working this thing. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for giving me feedback, and for the info I found in other posts. The only question I have left, is where can I get these in real flavors? The flavor they came with tastes kind of like unsugared, old tea, and I am not really digging it. Any ideas or suggestions?

Not sure where You got yours but mine came from Nhaler. The 555, ry4 and USA mix I got in these is amazing in my opinion. My only problem is how fast there drying up, which wouldn't be an issue if I had a few bottles of the juice thats in them. (which I'm ordering now.)

Buy the blank ones and fill them with your own juice. That's would I do. Do a forum search for the condom fill method. Easy, quick and tastes sooo much better.

I watched a video on the condom refill method, looks really easy, tried earlier adding a few drops from the bottle i carry with me, has a very small drip tip on it, about the same size as the hole in the battery end. That worked really well. I'm not so curious about me, I can get the empties and refill them myself, I'm hoping to find something my dad can order and not have to worry about doing anything but unwrapping it and screwing it onto the battery.

As for ur dad, what I do for my mom,(she lives over an hour away but I see her abt twice a month) is I bought a few packs on sale (ok, like 6 packs lol) but I fill them for her when I see her and she just uses them and recaps them n puts in a jar for me to fill when I come back. She also has some regular attys and juice so she can use that setup for if she runs out of filled cartos....doesnt happen often but sometimes I cant see her for longer.

Its an idea that MAY be an option if you see ur dad often....Good luck and happy vaping!

Ya i got the carto's for the Joye 510 but have a DSE801 just the other day. I also have a DSE801 battery to Joye 510 atty conversion adapter so i can use the carto's on my DSE801 and i get huge clouds of vape. Very easy to go this route and i dont have to worry about the joye 510 battery life. I am getting an eGo here on tuesday cant wait to give that a go!

The best way to refill your cartos is to take the short silicone cap (not the longer one) that they come with. Then fill the cap with your desired juice. Now with the draw end down (the white end where the vape comes out) slowly push the carto into the silicone cap and it will force the juice into the cart. You'll know when to stop when you see a little bit of juice start to come out the threaded end. I do about 20 at a time and just put both silicone caps back on and put them in my little carto holder and I'm good to go all day.

Absolutely the best method for filling them, give it a go and you'll be glad you did.

If your Dad wouldn't like filling carts, he wouldn't like filling cartos either. It's the same idea except you get to do it less often with a carto. You're better off getting pre-filled ones for him if you can find a flavor that is at least "pretty good."

Personally after trying the condom method and the binder clip trick I prefer the binder clip, less mess and its much harder to overfill or get liquid in my mouth.

I got the exact ones you have, and didn't much care for the prefill either. The tobacco was ok at first, but it lost me after a few hours. Too nutty for me. I found USA mix to be a bit better, so maybe give that a whirl if you haven't yet. Let your dad try both and see if one gets him excited, you never know.

I tried cartomizers for a while and they vape great, while they last. However, they're a pain to refill and I had an entire "carton" of 5 burn up on me within minutes after starting to vape each one. At approximately $2 a cartomizer, depending on where you get them, I couldn't afford to keep risking getting bad ones, so I went back to the atomizer + cartridge combo for price and convenience. I do have to refill carts more frequently, but it's a hell of a lot easier, too.

they work really well with my tornado batteries. actually, that's the setup i plan on buying for my dad. long battery life, ease of use, they do make a good combination.

fill them for him....even if you live a distance away, it wouldn't be much different than paying for the postage of having a company ship them to him.....he could mail you back the used ones.

I'm using both the 808 and 510 cartos, and much prefer the 510's. Since I'm a fairly heavy vapor, I had to experiment a little to find the right routine.

I rotate 2 batches of 20 cartos at a time - refilling the first batch until the performance drops off and then going to batch #2 while I clean and dry the first. Refilling in bulk makes the whole process easier... I just work at the kitchen table while watching TV. I use the condom/spin/condom method and it works great. Just make sure you blow out the small bit of excess juice before you pack them away. Letting them sit for 12-24 hours before using them seems to work better, also.

p.s. Eastmall has the 510 blanks on sale for $4 a 5-pack.
