I have been reading this forum for a couple of months...Found FreedomSmokeUSA here and LOVE THEM.

I first bought an Amerismoke kit - it's ok...the batteries suck...but the carts last forever...I have one that I've been using for like 4 weeks. But this contraption doesn't seem to have my trust (I run out of power a LOT). And three of the eight carts that came in the kit don't work on both batteries they sent (they all work...just some work on one battery and not the other...hmmm...I switch the cart and the battery works or I put the cart on the oher battery and it works).

So here's my idea...you veterans and pontificators please correct me where I am wrong.

I'm not going to buy a KIT. I'm going to go to Health Cabin that ships from China...they seem to have the best selection of stuff and are priced right...I can get everything I think I need at once (rather than from multiple sites).

Gonna buy:

2 900mah batteries (purple please, yeah!).
1 passthrough battery.
5 mega cartomizers that each hold 2ml (I'll probably buy more than 5...but that's how they're packaged).
Two USB Mega chargers...one for the PC at work and one for my existing AC-USB thing at home.

I'll get my juice from FreedomSmokeUSA though...I like how they sign the receipts...even though I'll probably get my gear from China faster than I'll get the juice from Arizona (I'm in Texas, mind you) if I order both on the same day hahaha.

If I do this...I will then have a powerful device that has great battery life and power for the vapor production. Big ole carts that will last a while during my busy day. And if something breaks or wears out, it's easy to get replacements.

If that ain't true...chime in here folks! And if you know of a better selection and price at a USA distributer...let me know. Not a fan of importing something I don't have to.

One question on the juice...am I right that VG=vapor's better and PG=throat hit's better? So If I need that damn throat hit feeling, then I should stay with a bit more PG that VG if I mix? Could the throat hit junkies chime in on their preferred ratio?

Thanks, Nat.

Hi Counselu2

Welcome. Sounds like you'll be off to a great start. With the 900 mA EGo, you may not need that second work charger- but it won't hurt to have it. What flavors of juice are you starting with? Samplers can be a good idea. IMO you're right, keeping the PG higher will give you more TH. I use pretty much pure PG, sometimes add a small amount of VG. Nic levels will also affect TH, generally higher nic= more TH.

I guess there is nothing wrong with buying the stuff separately if it is cheap enough, and you like the service. I have an ego, and really like it, but I dont see how I can make a cartomizer last 4 weeks of heavy vaping. Now If I had 10 of them, now maybe that would be true. FSUSA has great service, and a really great sale going on right now. Use the code 30ml, and only order 3 30ml bottles. If you keep your order to only 3 30ml bottles (any juice) , he will throw in 3 (3ml) of your choice as free samples (any juice) Oh, the sale ends today.

Oh I'm sucking down the 36 mg stuff...reg flavor "max/boro" from them...and other flavors...some, you're right, don't have the same hit. But I ordered the 40%PG/60%VG thinking the VG is prolly better for me. But I think maybe I'll go to 80PG/20VG for now while I still try to put down the "real smokes." I'm at that point where I actually prefer to vape, but still feel like I'm nicotine fitting. That's not a good place to be with batteries that suck hahaha!

That carts I have are Amerismoke...that seems to be one of the strong points of their product...but the more I learn about all of this is that all these brands are just the same equipment in a different box oftentimes. I know I need to change my equipment and also want to be able to buy new cartomizers that are empty...don't mind replacing them more often that I do now...as long as the rest of the device works well. Something tells me this weak battery has a lot to do with the cart-life hahaha.

the Ego battery has a longer life but the voltage is around 3.2 (someone chime in with the correct number). Loosely, mA refers to the amount of charge a battery can hold- so higher mA batteries last longer between charges. The voltage can affect flavor and TH, but you're more rather than less likely to burn carts and cartos with higher voltage units. Lots of mods for carts, but i use cartos - so can't say much about atty/cart combinations.

Generally, more voltage = more heat. Ego/Riva etc, are listed as 3.7V, but run at 3.2-ish, as do most stock e-cig batteries. Kr808d-1s are said to be "true" 3.7V. To go over that you generally need a mod 4, 5 or 6 V, (though some passthroughs are higher voltage). Things burn quickly with higher voltages if you're not careful to keep the liquids topped up.. Lots more reading and research if you're interested. I've just skimmed the surface...

I think you'll be pleased with the Ego- I use a Riva (along with an 808 and smokestik 4081) its pretty much the same as an Ego and it's quite reliable with good vapor and flavor.

yeah I ran across the Riva and it looks the same. From Trueman? They have good prices too...if it's the same...but still from China I think...may go that way too. All this stuff probably starts there anyway. But thanks for the input on the model...I think I at least have that part down now ha! Now for the brand/site! may need to look around some more.
