I got the Riva 510 from LF with Boge 2.0 LR Cartomisers.

I bought from LF some USA Mix, USA and Turk blend, Fruit Mix and Grape.

I also bought from thebestshop - Red Kola, Pineapple, RY4 and Blueberry.

First question, do I really need to charge it for 8 hours as per the manual? It's been in there charging for 7 hrs 20 mins so far :p

Second question, what juice should I try first?

Third question, how long to cartomisers last? I bought a pack of 5.

Last question, do I clean the cartomisers before filling it with a different flavoured ejuice?

Its all very exciting!

1 - I've charged batteries for 8 hours prior to use and I also used just after they fully charged. I could not tell the difference, but I would recommend you use the manufacturer's directions.

2 - Don't know what you would like to try first. Personally, I would try RY4 or USA Mix.

3 - My Boge cartos last about a week.

4 - You will always have remnants of the previous juice in a carto so you should clean them if you'd like.

...your batts should be good to go...cartos last as long as they last, it depends on the juice...make sure they are well filled and keep them wet...as soon as taste starts to fall off, they get dry or cottony tasting, top them off...use diff cartos for diff juices...some juices, with flavors that compliment each other can be put one on top of the other...cartos can be cleaned but, should be completely dry before reuse...GET MORE CARTOS...a week/10 days is about the max you get out of cartos(if lucky)...good luck and Happy Vaping!!!!!!!!!

I'd go with fruit mix or grape first.....

Charging- is there a light of some sort to indicate "charge status"? red means still charging, green means ready to use.... no light at all, means that the charger is of low quality (IMO). I think 7hrs is good enough if you are still waiting to take your first puffs off of it. After you get your nico headache put it back on the charger.... lol.

changing flavors in cartos- I just stick to one flavor in one carto.... someone with more experience(with cartos) will chime in. If I'm going to be switching flavors often, I'll just "drip".

Congrats on the kit! That's what I've been using for a couple weeks as well, based on feedback from here. It's been great.

Get more cartos! I'm guessing you will want to sample more juices. I haven't tried cleaning them yet, and honestly doubt I will. I've been vaping for around 17-18 days and have had to throw only one out, although like I said I rotate between a lot of juices.

I just used my Riva right away and charged the 2nd battery, but I'm impatient. Hasn't seemed to hurt anything.

Enjoy!

They hold about 1ml but if topping up, about 0.5 ml. If drip in you'll see when the filler looks saturated.

After about equivalent of 5 cigs of vaping, you'll need to be alert to the need top up. Typically the cartos can be topped up like this for 5 to 10 times; stop doing so when they dont work so good or taste not so good.

What do you mean nico headache? Im a chronic migraine sufferer and I dont want anything to set one off :S

headache is one of the symptoms of nicotine overdose.

what carpedbass said...

don't vape too much, too often and I think you'll be ok. drink water/fluids.

The Riva charger turns green at 3.92v by design. There may be a slight trickle charge after that, but they are ready to vape when you see the green light. Li-ion batts are stored at 40% charge anyway, so when you get them you can use one while the other is charging.

If you are using cartos, the advice you were given is good. Keep them topped off, blow them out gently into a paper towel after filling until you don't hear a gurgle when you draw through them. Clean the battery contacts every time to top off a carto. Gurgle can come from there also.

When you top of a carto, drip juice in with the carto held at an angle so that it can soak into the filler without running down the air channel in the center. Rotate as you drip and watch it soak in, then rotate and repeat. If you still see slush after filling, you can use the bottle as an eye dropper to retrieve some of the overfill. Just hold the bottle upright, squeeze out some air, and use the suction. After all, you are retrieving unused juice from a relatively clean end of the carto. Blow out the rest and vape!

Enjoy!

Thanks for all the advice, is it normal for everything to taste quite like some sort of metal/plastic combination at first?

It could be your juice. High VG concentrations do not wick well. I don't use Boge cartos for the same reason though, regardless of juice. People told me I was crazy when I reported that they tasted like plastic...
